1. Attract more visitors to your site or article – Most of these directories have very high traffic. Article submissions on a popular topic will result in more visitors to your website. Submit your article to as many article directories as you can for free high quality traffic.

2. SEO – A back link from a high traffic, content-rich site can do a wonders for your site in terms of SEO. Search engines value such links. When you submit your article to a directory, include a link to your site. Your site will move up the SERPs with time.

3. Reputation – A well written article will get people interested in you as a writer and webmaster. They will start looking for similar content either from your website or from your other article submissions. Make sure all articles are well researched and thought out and have a unique twist to set yourself apart.

4. Creating a stir – Your article submissions may be on a topic that affects many people. You may want many people to read your views but you may not have a highly trafficked site. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a concept most webmasters and internet marketers are familiar with. This article will look what it is and a few SEO writing techniques.

What is SEO article writing?

A person includes certain keywords in an article in such a way that when a searcher types in the same keywords in a search engine’s search box, the corresponding web page (or website) appears as one of the top links in the Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs). This entails very many things other than adding keywords. They are as follows:

SEO writing techniques:

1. Web structure creation

You have to code your site in such a way that search engine bots easily crawl all the pages. The coding should allow for the content to come first as this increases a site’s quality score. A person can either do this himself or hire a professional.

2. Content optimization

This is one of the most important SEO article writing techniques. You have to include the keywords you want your site to rank for in the content. For instance, if you want your antique book site to rank for “old books” you have to include the keyword “old books” in the content. The keyword density should not be greater than 5% because any more than that can cause your site to be flagged as spam.

A webmaster must make the content readable by including headings, bullet points and appropriate fonts.

Finally, you must keep the site under one niche. This increases relevancy causing the bots to rank it hire in the SERPs.

3. Linking strategy

This is one of the most effective SEO writing techniques. Here, a webmaster uses anchor text to either link to other pages in his site or other relevant articles in other websites. It is at this point that he should start looking for high traffic sites to link to his content. A link back from a high traffic site does wonders for a site’s positioning in the SERPs. For this to be successful, there are a few things that he has to do. They include:

  • Post regular content on your site
  • Write high quality content that will cause high traffic sites in your niche to link to your site
  • Link to many good quality sites in your niche
  • Use appropriate anchor text when linking out
  • Write guest posts and comment on high traffic sites etc.

A linking strategy is one of the hardest SEO writing techniques. When properly done, a site benefits from a lot of high quality traffic with very low bounce rates.

4. Incorporate social media

This is done in tandem with SEO article writing. A webmaster creates pages on popular social media sites. He/she then uses them to inform loyal readers of changes in his site like new posts, changes in design etc. It is also the perfect platform to increase visitors by running contests and giveaways.

SEO can increase a website’s traffic to extraordinarily high levels when properly carried out over a long period.

Articles are a very important and effective way of delivering a message. Webmasters use it extensively as part of SEO, internet marketers use it to increase sales, reporters use it to convey their stories etc. This article will look at what is an article writing by giving a simple definition and the different types of articles available. The article will also answer people asking themselves “how do you write an article?”

What is an article writing?

This is a way of conveying a message with very few words set out in an easy to read fashion. Most articles are about a particular subject matter and are generally short. There are a few types of articles that come up when looking into what is an article writing. They include:

1. The ‘how to’ article – In this case, the writer explains how something is done using easy to follow steps. In some cases, these articles are accompanied by pictures and examples.

2. The ‘list’ article – In this case, the article skims over different aspects of a given subject matter. For instance, a writer can write on ‘5 ways to acquire a laptop’. The article will not expound on any aspect.

3. The ‘motivational’ article – This article talks about ways to increase productivity and other ways of self-improvement. They are usually very detailed and are targeted at certain people.

4. The ’round up’ article – this article is usually a summary of an event or larger article. It is usually designed for people who want an overview of a situation.

How do you write an article?

There are a few things that you must do in order to write the best articles. They include

1. Write in a language you are comfortable with. You need to know how to express yourself with words. This is because you will need to describe things and situations to a large audience.

2. Do your research– You must have good research skills. A well-researched article with a unique twist and structure will give you a loyal readership and therefore a successful career.

3. Be original – Never copy another person’s work or writing style. This lack of authenticity will repel anyone reading your material.

4. Specialize – It is better to pick one writing style and article type and stick to it until it is mastered. This will allow you to pick up skills that will increase your work’s popularity.

5. Practice makes perfect – The best writers in the world have a bunch of bad written articles in their past. What sets them apart from other less successful writers is that they kept learning from their mistakes and therefore kept getting better.

6. Write on subjects you are comfortable with – A person cannot know everything. It is better to pick a topic and learn as much as you can about it. These details will improve the quality of your articles.
