“What type of public speaker are you?”

There are three categories of people that make excellent speakers. Which type of speaker are you?

Public Speaker Category 1: The Authority. If you know a lot about a subject then you can become an authority speaker. If you have proven yourself then you can be an authority. When you are an authority then everybody wants you to speak.

But what if you aren’t an authority on anything? Not to worry. You can be a person in the next category.

Public Speaker Category 2: The Reporter. A reporter means that you wear a different hat when you are speaking. Instead of telling people how you did things, you tell people about what you learned from the authority speakers. You can also craft books and products that gather the teachings of all the authorities into one resource. You simply report what you have learned from others.

But wait, I’m not an authority or a report. Then category three may be for you.

Public Speaker Category 3: The Student. This is a person that everyone can relate to.

You need to find the public speaker category that best fits your current situation, personality, and desires. How do you now if you are an authority or not? You can go to the library and check out an Idiot’s guide. Look at the table of contents for the Idiot’s guide on your content. Can you talk about all the topics in the table of contents? If so then you are an authority. You can also use this table of contents to structure the flow of your presentation on the topic.

As a public speaker one of your goals is to plant seed of ideas in your audience. You teach people and plant ideas into their brains. These ideas grow into flowers that will result in future sales for you. Public speaking is extremely powerful.

Public speaking is also a prime venue for creating joint ventures. You may have people in your audience that are potential business partners and life long friends or both. By speaking to a mass audience you have the opportunity to showcase yourself and your business. It is an excellent and effective way to reel in lucrative joint venture partners.

“Which phase are you in?”

What are the four phases of a typical professional career? Read on to find out. You will recognize these phases as you go through all of them.

Phase 1: You have a job in a corporation or something similar. You trade time for money. You most likely hate your job.

Phase 2: You learn about Internet business opportunities on the side. You invest in education through attending seminars and buying information products. You are scared about investing too much money in this education. You skimp and save on your education which slows down your future success.

Then one day it dawns on you that you have to invest more in education because in the long term you will earn much more than your initial investment. So you go to the seminars. You also start earning money on the Internet.

As you are learning the skills and concepts that you take you to the next level on the Internet, people will look at you as a pioneer. You have to go with the idea that you want to grow your Internet business.

Phase 3: You teach people how you made money on the Internet in phase 2. You can enjoy a sharp jump income when you teach other people. For example, you can run your own seminars and engage in public speaking.

It doesn’t matter what type of Internet business you participate in. You have to follow the same business principles. The first principle is to over deliver. Over delivering will grow your seminars by leaps and bounds because people will be thrilled with the education they learned. They learned much more than they expected.

The second business principle is to invest your money in something that goes up in value. Don’t just spend your money. Instead invest it in business education and products that will increase your overall value. Sometimes the value won’t increase until far in the future, but the investment is worth it if it increases your value at all.

Phase 4: You show people how you accomplished and went through the first three phases of your life. You go into depth to show everyone how they can model and duplicate your results for themselves. You sell high ticket items from the public speaking platform. There is a huge audience of people that want to learn what you do and how you got to your current success.

Which phase are you in?

“4 Principles of Public Speaking”

What is the most profitable skill in the world? It is the ability to step in front of an audience and sell them something. Remember, nobody likes to feel like they are being sold to, but people like to learn. So the key to public speaking is to teach people valuable information that they are excited about. Teaching them this content can lead to more sales than an in your face sales presentation.

Did you know that you can earn a seven figure income through public speaking? Yes, it’s possible. If you are willing to stand up and teach people what you have done in your Internet business or area of expertise, you can earn thousands and millions of dollars of extra cash. If you have succeeded in a specific area then other people will want to learn the secrets of your success.

Public speaking is not only speaking, but selling people your products and services from the stage to a mass audience. For example, you could teach people how to become wealthy. You have to use the following principles in your public speaking regardless of what type of business you are in.

Public Speaking Principle 1: You need to jump into a venture where you can work one time and earn money over and over from that initial work. For example, you can develop your training product once and sell it over and over.

Public Speaking Principle 2: You need to stop selling one person to one person and instead sell one to many. You have to sell to a mass audience. You can accomplish this through public speaking to large audiences.

Public Speaking Principle 3: The value of the content you present can increase the amount of product you sell. If people perceive your content as valuable then they will perceive your products as being valuable as well. So you knock their socks off with your presentation by teaching them highly valuable techniques and information. Then you swoop in and sell them your products so they can learn further about your area of expertise.

Public Speaking Principle 4: Spend your time working on things that go up in value versus things that go down in value. Take your checks that you wrote last year and put them in a pile. Then separate the pile into two smaller piles. The first pile will contain checks that were written for items that increased your value. The second pile will contain checks that were written for items that decreased in value. You will often find that the pile for increase in value is much smaller. Plus, this pile will contain checks written for education. Education in your niche area and Internet business tends to increase in value as you apply the principles you learn through this continuing education.

“Slash your Tax Bill through Business Expenses”

Why don’t people treat their Internet business as a legitimate business? Internet businesses don’t fall into the common perception of business. We were taught that you had to work hard for your money and commute to an office. Many people don’t comprehend that working from home in their pajamas is a legitimate business. You have to perceive your Internet business as a business.

An example of perceiving your Internet business as a business is to keep track of your receipts. Think about it this way. If you bought pens, papers, and office supplies for a corporate employer you would send your employer the receipts for reimbursement. The same applies to your Internet business, except you consider these business expenses and apply them to your tax liability. You have to make sure to keep organized, accurate records of all your receipts.

Not sure what you can consider as a business expense in your Internet business? There are a host of business expenses you can take. You can deduct office supplies, software, and books for example. You can take business deductions for items that are necessary for your Internet business. Double check with a tax professional and consult the IRS tax forms from http://www.irs.gov.

Did you know that the single biggest expense you will encounter is your tax bill? This is true for most people because they don’t take advantage of legal tax minimization techniques.

Basically, there are two different tax systems in America. There is a tax system for the educated and there is a tax system for the uneducated. Educated and uneducated refers to how much the person knows about tax planning.

Those that are educated about tax planning take all the legal tax deductions they possibly can and slash their taxes significantly. Those that don’t take these legal tax deductions often pay far more in taxes than is necessary. They are losing money because they don’t understand how to take advantage of the tax laws that the government has provided for them.

Did you know that a tax accountant is different from an accountant? You need to go to a tax accountant because they specialize in taxes. Don’t just go to an account because they may give you information that doesn’t work to your advantage. The same thing applies to an attorney versus a tax attorney. It is important to note also that you might receive different opinions and strategies from tax accountants and tax attorneys.

“Going to Explode? 3 Tax Mistakes to Avoid.”

Have you already started your business? If you have already started your business then it is imperative that you seek out the skills and services of a tax professional immediately if you haven’t already done so. You could not only be missing out on tax savings, but committing tax blunders even though you don’t realize it. Don’t wait. Take action now and make sure your tax planning is in proper order. This will shield your from headaches down the road.

A major reason to have proper tax planning set up from the beginning is that Internet businesses often explode in income quickly. For example, you may make thousands or even millions of dollars quickly if you have a great product and/or marketing. If you don’t have your finances and tax planning in order then you could sink in disorganized finances. You may face tax penalties if you don’t know how to deal with the sudden inflow of cash.

What are the top three mistakes people commonly make when they structure their business?

Mistake 1: Procrastination. It’s not that people plan to fail, it’s that they fail to plan. They don’t structure their tax planning. For example, they can face penalties because they didn’t pay estimated taxes. Plus, their tax bill can be staggering if they didn’t pay estimated taxes throughout the year. This can be a nasty wake up call.

Mistake 2: They don’t realize their true potential. People are often blown away at how fast and how much money they can make in an Internet business. An Internet business is a totally different animal when it comes to the speed of growth compared to a brick and mortar business. Many people find themselves losing control over the amount of money they have made. They underestimate how much they will make.

Mistake 3: They fail to realize that they have to keep these formalities. You have to treat your Internet venture as a business. Don’t consider it a hobby. You have to change the way you think of expenses. Instead of personal expenses, you should try to find as many business expenses as you can. Business expenses enable you to lower your liability. If you don’t treat your expenses as business expenses, in the proper categories, then you will miss out on thousands of dollars of tax savings.

“Plug up those financial leaks in your Internet business!”

Financial success in business is not how much money you make, but how much money you keep. This doesn’t mean that you save all the money you make and don’t spend anything. It means that you should plug up some of the financial leaks in your business so you are not losing money that you don’t need to lose. For example, with the right knowledge you can slash your taxes significantly. Saving on taxes is an excellent way to keep more of the money you earn.

Proper tax planning is critically important. Too often businesses are afraid of dealing with taxes. They mistakenly believe that they won’t understand the ins and outs of business taxes. This is a fallacy. You can and should learn about proper tax planning or you could be losing out on thousands of dollars. You can consult a tax attorney to help you out. The key is to jump into tax planning information and understand it so you can save more of the money that you earn.

Many people are also amazed at how much you can slash your taxes. They automatically think that these tax cutting techniques are questionable or illegal. This is not the case. The government wants businesses to succeed. They have actually provided tax laws that benefit your business if you know that these tax laws exist. Therefore, you can dramatically cut your tax bill if you know the tax laws and how to take advantage of them. And of course you will only engage in legal actions.

What is the best way to engage in proper tax planning? You should set up your business properly from the beginning. It is much easier to stay out of trouble then it is to get out of trouble. Therefore, you should learn tax laws that you can utilize from the get go. You should understand how to allocate your finances towards taxes and asset protection. It is better to be over informed then uninformed. So consult a tax attorney or tax professional right from the beginning.

“What’s your excuse?”

Is your Internet business failing? Ask yourself why this is happening. It could be that you know what you should do, but you just aren’t doing it. Ask yourself why you haven’t taken action. Is it fear or rejection? Is it fear of success? Remember, successful people do what unsuccessful people aren’t willing to do.

If you are stuck or failing then write out the reasons why you are not succeeding on paper. This helps to make your excuses concrete. This is the first step in solving your problems.

Typical excuses include:

Excuse 1: “I don’t have enough time.” Forget this excuses because you can start and work on an Internet business in as little as five minutes per day. It may take longer to reach success, but you can still make significant changes if you stick to it. Wake up an hour earlier or go to bed an hour later. Do you watch TV? If you do then you have time to work on an Internet business. Simply replace all or some of your TV time with time spent on your Internet business.

Excuse 2: “Starting an Internet business is too overwhelming.” Take it one bite at a time. Spend five minutes each day. Work in small bite size chunks. Anybody can work for five minutes. These short segments make any task achievable.

Excuse 3: “I just don’t understand how the Internet works.” Many people who use this excuse haven’t spent anytime researching and learning about the Internet. There is a bounty of resources available to you on the Internet that spell out the inner workings of an Internet business. The learning curve is very short because you can just model proven systems. Once you learn the system once, it is up to you how fast you want to duplicate the system.

Excuse 4: “I don’t know how to do marketing because I’m not creative.” You do not have to be creative with marketing. In fact, you should follow the model of successful marketers. Don’t reinvent the marketing wheel because you will make mistakes and lose time and money. Instead, find out what worked for the top Internet businesses and use these marketing techniques. The marketing information, models, tips, and techniques are all available to you waiting to be learned and applied to your Internet business.

So drop your excuses and get started on your Internet business right now!

“Stay ahead in the marketplace with these cutting edge techniques.”

When it comes to your opt-in page, cutting edge techniques will amaze you. Examples of cutting edge techniques include Internet businesses that will cater more to the customer. You will give the customer what they want as opposed to just selling your product to them. This applies to the opt-in page in that more information will be asked on the opt-in page then was asked in the past. For example, people will be asked for their age, state, phone number, etc. in addition to their name and primary email address.

Why ask for the phone number? You can find out where people live. Plus, you can get people on the phone and speak with them directly. You can also send out a voice blast that has announcements about your website, business, and products.

For example, let’s say that a customer signed up for your teleseminar list. The day after the teleseminar you can send a voice blast to them that tells them about a website you set up just for them. Give them the website address and tell them how they can get more free stuff and buy products on this website. It has been found that this follow up phone call increases sales.

Tip: When you give away bonus gifts they have to have real world value. Don’t give away crap that people can get for free somewhere else on the Internet. Give them items that you create or that could actually be sold.

Also make sure to implement scarcity in your offers. During the voice blast you can explain that the special website will only be available for 24 hours. Or you can give this 24 hour offer during the teleseminar. Your phone call the next day will prompt any people to buy that had initially been dragging their feet on the offer. This is a powerful technique. Your sales conversion will dramatically increase.

Let’s look at the sales letter. You can personalize the sales letter based on information you obtained when people opted in to your list. For example, you can ask people for the state they live in when they sign up for your list. Then you can set up technology that plugs in their state in the sales letter. Your sales letter headline can say “Offer for people from (state)”. Sales conversion usually increases as the sales letter is more personalized. You can also use the extra information in emails and other forms of communication with your customer.

Do note that your opt-in list sign up rate may falter when you ask more information. If you ask for too much information then you may scare people away. The only way to find out is to test it. Modify how much information, and the type of information you ask, on your opt-in list and see how it affects your list sign up rates.

“6 Powerful Opt-In List Building Techniques”

What techniques can you use to get people to sign up for your opt-in list?

List Technique #1: Tell people what to expect when they click the submit button on your website and are added to your list. It is the law of expectation. People are less likely to click on the submit button if they have no idea what they are going to get in return.

List Technique #2: Tell people exactly what you want them to do. Tell them that you want them to type in their name and primary email address. Tell them to then hit the submit button. Use direct language.

List Technique #3: Don’t be shy. Ask for what you want. Don’t be scared of offending somebody by asking them to sign up for your list and to buy your products. You need to cater to as many audiences as possible. Be careful about the words you choose, but still be more forceful. On the Internet you have to be more direct and forceful because you are not face to face with the customer.

List Technique #4: Also take customer replies with a grain of salt. Let’s say that you have a pop up on your website. You may have somebody write you because they are mad about the pop ups. They may write a long letter about how pushy you are. Remember that is just one person’s opinion. Don’t feel bad and don’t let it deter your efforts. It is impossible to please everybody all the time. Plus, 99% of your list might love the pop ups!

List Technique #5: Another technique that works is to put a red box around the submit button. This draws the focus of attention to submit button and signing up for the list.

List Technique #6: Remember to ask for the “primary” email address. Many people have several email addresses and you want to contact them through the email address that they use most often. Plus, you want to prevent them from typing in a fake or hardly-used web email address.

Follow these list building techniques and you will have a quality list in no time.

“Set your website apart from the crowd with this technology.”

Your sales letter sits in front of you. You marvel at the direct response marketing techniques you have used in the sales letter copy. You know that the sales letter copy should not be filled with fancy technology, but part of you wants to use cutting edge technology anyway. You understand that you have to have a sales letter that relies on marketing fundamentals, but what technology can you incorporate on your website?

Your Internet business website will benefit from audio and video components. For example, you should have a video that automatically plays when people come to your website.

Audio and video have several benefits. They enable a person to hear and see you which builds a deeper trust much faster than through simple text. Some people may feel that audio and video that automatically plays on your website is annoying. You can actually use this annoyance to your advantage. How? People will want to stop the audio and video and the only way to do that is to sign up for your list. So bingo! You have them on your opt-in list.

Not sure if you want to use audio, video, or both on your website? Just ask your list and observe your conversion rates. Use other people’s opinions as a guideline, but the real proof is in the conversion pudding. Your best bet is to test both audio and video. Test out an audio clip and see how many people opt-in to your list based on this clip. Then test out a video clip and see how many people opt-in to your list.

Video and audio on a website is completely useless unless you have a specific purpose. Don’t just tell people that you have nice products. Instead, welcome people to your website, tell them who you are, offer free bonuses (bribe), and then instruct them how to sign up for your list.
