“Don’t take it personally!”

Email marketing includes knowing how to write great copy. Your email message should be filled with relevant content, but don’t forget about the sales pitch. You should also survey your customers to find out what solutions they need. You can then pitch them products that will solve these problems.

Your copy should have compelling language that gets your email subscribers to take action. You have to point out why they can’t live without the product you are pitching. There is nothing wrong with selling as long as you are selling good stuff that your subscribers will need.

How important is it to maintain your email subscriber list? It is a voluntary list. You are only going to sell to people that want to buy your list. You will have people unsubscribe. This is a fact of life and you can’t take it personally. People unsubscribe for a variety of reasons. For example, they may have a new email address.

You can always obtain new subscribers that are interested in your product. So don’t worry about people that unsubscribe. You will have new subscribers flood in that really do want your products. Focus on the people that want your products and are in interested in what you have to offer.

To avoid a huge unsubscribe rate, you can use a double opt-in method when people sign up for your list. This means that people will input their name and email address on your website. They will be then sent an email asking them to confirm their subscription. Once they click on the link in this email they will be added to your list.

What is the biggest mistake that people make with their email marketing? The biggest mistake is that they don’t stay in touch with their subscribers. For example, they let four months go by before they send an email. And they want immediate action in the email. The connection with your customers needs to be maintained.

“Which works best in email: Long or short copy?”

Have you ever received an email that is 7 pages long? How long should email messages be? Do long emails or short emails work better? The answer is that your emails should be brief. Your email is just a vehicle to get the subscriber to take action. For example, your email should be to the point and get people to go your Blog. Your email copy can tell people to head to your Blog for information about a specific topic. Then on your Blog you can have long copy.

Long copy in your email is also bad because spam filters don’t like long copy. Spam filters will imprison your emails in spam prison if they detect a certain number of specific words. For example, you may have long copy in your email that references the words “weight loss” several times. Spam filters will perceive these references as spam and send your email to spam prison. So provide short email copy instead.

Create a dialog with your subscribers. Give them a way to talk back. This will create a much deeper relationship. Your email copy should not just talk at the subscriber. The copy should ask the subscriber for their feedback. Personalize your emails as though you were talking to a friend and want their feedback.

Tip: Your emails should look spontaneous, personal, and relevant. Your subscribers should think that your email is coming from a pal.

Can you have a relationship that is too close to your email subscribers? Can you be too revealing and counterproductive? Yes. Your goal is to be an expert on the topic that people are subscribing for. If you write about your own personal problems and violate your expertise then you are going to ruin the relationship with your subscribers. Take time to think about what personal information, if any, you reveal to your email subscribers. For example, you would not reveal emotional outbursts such as a nervous breakdown.

People want solutions. Your emails can’t lose sight of this. You have to constantly provide information on the topic that you are an expert on. You can still establish a relationship, but the relationship should be light and filled with humor. You may lose subscribers from time to time, but the subscribers that do stay with you are targeted and worth their weight in gold. Focus on retaining these customers by providing pertinent information.

“Want to know a secret about Internet business? Here are 4!”

Secret #1: Build a belief system. You have to believe that your product will bring in at least $300 per month. Don’t start off which an expectation of a huge profit. If you do then you will most likely be disappointed when you don’t achieve this goal. Start off with a lower profit goal.

Once you earn this goal then figure out how many products you need to sell to earn $3,000 per month. Then when you achieve that goal figure out how many products you have to sell to earn $30,000 per month. The key is to never be satisfied by how much you are earning each month.

You need to understand that you will not get rich with just one product. Think about the big Internet players. They don’t have just one product. They have a line of products. They realize that they have to develop a host of products that turn a decent profit each month on a consistent basis.

You should build a product that can stand the test of time. Don’t create a flavor of the month product because you will always have to develop the next new product. If you work this way you won’t be able to earn residual income and let go of your business. You will be trapped in a vicious cycle of product creation. Instead, focus on an information product and line of products that will sell far into the future.

Secret #2: Use public domain information. You can copy, paste, and sell public domain information. You can obtain public domain from the government. How? Go to http://www.google.com/unclesam. You can find all the information you ever wanted about the government.

For example, you can click on the “Grants” link. You will go to http://www.grants.gov/. This will give you information about all the government grants available. This is valuable information. Think about the guy on TV that wears the suit with questions marks who sells government grant information. You have access to the same information that he sells to people. You can take this information and turn it into your own product quickly. You can then sell it for a profit.

Tip: You can access a free government search engine at http://www.firstgov.gov/. There are several categories you can go to and find valuable information. You can download, use, and adapt this information into your own product for free. Why? This government information is in the public domain.

Secret #3: You don’t have to write your content. You can use public domain information. And/or you can record your thoughts onto a CD. You can sell the CD. You can also have a freelancer transcribe and format this information. This will let you sell a printed version of the product as well.

Secret #4: How do you market your product? Open up a Google AdWords account. Google AdWords enables you to create small ads that will appear in the search engines.

You should also set up a website and write an effective sales letter. You can have a freelancer create your website. Go to http://www.scriptlance.com/ or http://www.elance.com to find freelancers.

The Internet is not as difficult as you think. You can create a product in two to three days or sometimes in just a few hours.

Following are three small secrets you can use in your Internet that make a big difference.

Secret #1: You want to have active hyperlinks in your emails. People are lazy. They won’t take the time to copy and paste an inactive link into their browser. You can ensure that you have provided an active link by putting a space in right after you type in the hyperlink. This may seem like a small tip, but it could be worth thousands of dollars in revenue.

Secret #2: What’s the first thing you have to have when you want to market online? The first thing you need is a product. You have to have a product to market whether it is yours or somebody else’s product.

Many people start off by promoting other people’s products through affiliate marketing. Then they create their own product in the future. This is one way to enter the Internet market, but it won’t earn you the most money. Why? If you are affiliate then you won’t earn as much money as the person whose product you are selling.

Affiliate marketing is great for supplemental income. However, if you want your primary income to come from your Internet business then you need to sell your own product. You can also have affiliates work for you.

If you market your own product then you will make 100% of the products. Creating and selling your product will take you more time, energy, and money to get started. However, these upfront issues will be overcome quickly when you earn all the cash and not have to give any of it away.

Secret #3: Your product doesn’t have to change the world. You don’t have to be a creative superstar. You simply have to get a product out there that you can market.

One of the biggest problems people have when they jump online and decide to build an Internet business is that they’re mind goes blank. For some reason they forget about their experiences in traditional business. They believe that the online business world works so differently, that their old corporate business skills make no sense. This is incorrect. You have to use the same skills that you used before.

What are some skills that you still need to use online? You still need to market your product, satisfy your customers, and build a system just to name a few. You should also seek out what customers want and give it to them. People always crave information.

Brainstorm and think about your past experience and knowledge. Do you have information that other people need? Can you write a manual that will help people? For example, can you write a manual that helps people set the timer on their VCR? You can search the Internet to find out what topics people are searching for. You can combine this demand with your background to provide an informational product.

There may be information and tasks that you take for granted, but other people don’t understand. For example, you may know how to set up a computer and connect it to the Internet, but many people don’t. You can create training material that helps these people do it on their own. The options on things you can teach are endless.

Increasing traffic to your website is difficult because it has a language and environment all its own. For example, you have to understand the technical aspects. In addition, you may have keywords that are extremely popular and will spend too much time and money trying to gain the top search engine ranking.

Therefore, you should focus on increasing your sales conversion. If you increase this business number then your business will grow exponentially. How can you increase your sales conversion? You can increase your conversion rate using these five methods.

Increase Conversion Strategy #1: Put an opt-in box on the main page. This will help you build your list right away. Once people sign up for your list you can promote to them constantly. Don’t forget to provide valuable content as well.

This customer product purchase information is worth its weight in gold because you can use it. You can learn not only about the mind of the customer and their rationale for buying your product, but to also use it as copy on your sales letter. These reasons should be at the top of your sales letter.

Tip: A great software program to use with the survey is the Ask Database system. It enables you to keep track of the survey responses.
