Using Videos to Grow Your Business

Taking your business to the next level is very doable especially if you consider adding video advertising to your marketing. Now when I say advertising I don’t necessarily mean blatant in-your-face advertising. I mean showing what it is your business has to offer, whether it be services or tools or just offering information to your audience. These all can be considered forms of advertising. It gets your message across and can do it extremely quickly.

Video is viral. This visible medium can take your business to the next level because videos are so contagious. Consider YouTube.com and other video sites like Yahoo Video, MSN Video, Google Video, Brightcove, Mochila or Blinkx and others… These sites all have a huge following and if you place your video on any of these sites you are bound to see your traffic increase.

Communicating with your customers and potential customers with the use of video can add a fresh perspective to the always common simple website text. Video is dynamic, fresh and can be very informative in a matter of seconds. It saves your visitor time and also adds an intriguing twist to the regular static text online world.

Here are some tips to consider when adding video to your website:

1.First ask yourself if the video will add sales to your website. Your answer should be a definite yes!

2.Will you make the video yourself or have a professional produce it for you? There are a lot of fairly inexpensive video devices available that can produce good quality videos. Consider your market. Is your business extremely professional and targeting top notch clientele? If so, perhaps hiring a professional videographer is the answer. However, if your market can handle a more laid-back casual video style then you may be able to be your own personal videographer!

3.Do you have the expertise to produce, upload and host the video for your website? If not, perhaps you’ll need to invest some time or possibly invest some money into educating yourself. There are also a lot of online resources available that can train you on how to add video to your website for free. But make sure you get good solid information that will make your business stand out from your competitors!

You must also consider that like with anything on the internet, marketing is one of the main factors in expanding your business. Why not test out video on your website and see the response. Online video is now in its infancy and other businesses are catching on fast. Make sure you’re ahead of the game by adding video to your online marketing efforts so that you too can reap the rewards with increased sales.

Build Your Business Online and Offline

A lot of online business owners use various online strategies, tools and software to build their business online. They use the tips of good website design, along with autoresponder messages to capture their audiences contact information… They send emails and offer free newsletters and reports, but few online businesses ever consider building their business even further offline.

Expanding your wealth offline is a major factor in increasing your revenues and profits. I can’t emphasize this enough. This is how I’ve grown my business and I am a true believer in taking your business offline while still maintaining your online presence. You’ve got to be aggressive marketers. And you have to do this online as well as offline. It’s amazing how much you can increase your conversions this way.

Obtain your customers online and take them offline as soon as possible. The biggest problem most website business owners have is they’re not integrating other tools and various mediums into their business. You must do it if you want to stay alive online. The best way to take your business offline is by first, having your offer through an opt-in page made with a sequence of messages. This gives you the ability to contact your audience or potential customers over and over again.

Next, after these visitors opt-in to your list, you automatically send them to your sales page and after that you contact them by phone. You increase your personal connection this way and gain the trust of your visitors but you’re also helping increase your conversion and response rate because this personal connection will likely make the sale!

You’ve got to realize, many business people make business so difficult when it’s really a simple process. Just keep it simple, have a system like the one I use above and you can make thousands more for your business.

Even if you choose not to pick up the phone (although I highly recommend this) you can choose to offer your opt-in list a free physical item that can be mailed to them. Offer them something of value that they can’t resist. This way you are sure to capture their personal mailing address. You give them that personal touch by taking your business offline and making that one-on-one connection. It’s amazing how much of a response you can get mailing out an item to your potential customer – especially if it’s for FREE!

Remember; don’t ignore other avenues of your business. Offline advertising is one of the overlooked marketing strategies used today. Although you can save on shipping costs by having your businesses solely online, you’re missing out on a ton of profits by excluding good old fashioned direct mail. Offline advertising is a must-do for your business. Don’t neglect this profitable avenue.

Form Companies around Your Niches

When you find the right niche for your new online business, you need to ensure you own those visitors who visit your site. Ownership can only happen if you make a squeeze page. It is imperative that all of your niche website businesses have their own squeeze page aka opt-in page in order to capture your visitors. You want to capture your visitor’s names and email addresses in order for you to get in contact with them again so that you can offer them more products. You can even go a bit further and ask for their address to send them something in the mail. But this is usually done a bit later in the process in order to add that personal touch. A free giveaway that is considered valuable to your subscriber after they opt-in is always an excellent option at gaining more of their personal information. That way you can send them offers via physical mail which gives you a greater chance of having them read and respond to your offer.

However, you must remember, by building a niche site you are the expert and the master of your domain so to speak. Your visitors are looking to you for advice, support and assistance. They are serious about what they are looking for and your niche business should be as well.

Anyone looking for information online is eager for answers to their questions, that’s why they are looking to you for the answer. Once they find you and get to know you they can be very loyal customers. The only way and the best way to make them your customer and hopefully your lifelong customer is to contact them over and over again. The only way to do this is by capturing their personal information using an opt-in form. This form is the initial step in forming your company. Once you capture your customer’s information you have the key to wealth! As long as you market to them again and again and send them lots of good, solid information, they’ll be a customer for life.

Here are some other tips for making your squeeze page a success:

• If you’re using a background, the best colors to use on your squeeze page are a light grey or a white background.

• Black or maroon headlines I find produce the best results. So, make sure your sqeeze-page and sales letter pages use these colors for their headlines!

• Use good, professional direct response copywriting for your sales letters. Sales letter copywriting is an art form – a formula. And if the right formula is not used this can decrease your conversion rate. So, for top conversion rates, it’s best to have your sales letter professionally written by a results-oriented copywriter that produces high conversion rates for sales letters regardless of the niche.

If you follow these simple tips, you will definitely see positive results through your sales and your company will grow beyond what you ever could have imagined. Good luck!

More on Marketing to Your List

As I’ve stated before you really should send out as many emails to your list as possible if you hope to achieve any kind of sales volume. So, make sure you have some sort of opt-in form on your site or publication that is easy to find. Driving traffic to your site through press releases, articles and content on your site is great, but you have to be able to capture your visitor’s information in order to be able to market to them later. The more people you have on your list, the more money you’re going to make.

So, fast-forwarding a bit… you’ve now been able to build a decent list but you are really stuck on how much you can market to this list via your products or your affiliate’s. What you want to do is you always want to be doing things to keep on filling your funnel so you can start marketing more and more things.

In the first, second and third month what should you expect? Well, if you’re always marketing multiple opportunities out there, you really want to be very careful of what you are offering and what you’re not offering. Just don’t throw crap down the pipeline at them, but also don’t just sit there and do nothing at all.

So, you should be sending out emails pretty much all the time. Try to find something that’s very, very lucrative that’s really going to put a lot into your pocket.

Get started by going out and finding the affiliate programs that you feel comfortable with and you trust enough that you’re willing to put your name behind.
Once you do promote it, one thing I would recommend is that you don’t just send out one email and think it’s all over with. I would recommend dedicating a week to promoting a product or promoting something that you’re marketing, not just changing from one product to the next.

Money-wise, I’ll just tell you, you’re going to make all your biggest mistakes at the beginning when you first get started.

One of the biggest mistakes I think most people have about affiliate marketing is the fact that companies give you emails, links and all this stuff and you don’t use it. They’ve already got the system figured out and if you try to recreate the system, well, then that’s where I see the most failure is made. Follow the system – if they’ve got a system, they’ve got a way that things work and there’s probably a reason for that.

The first week, you’ve got to get you list trained. You’ve got to get them used to the fact that you’re going to be sending them emails promoting and offering things to them. By the second week you can get a better feel for your list, of what they can take, what they can’t take, and not only that, how much it means for you. If you’re always offering various products to your list, after a while you’re going to get to a point where it’s going to seem pretty easy.

Your Keyword List Affects Your Google Adwords Campaigns

Creating a Google Adwords Campaign is a fairly simple process. All you have to do is go to Google.com and click on Advertising Programs. Then it leads to another page and you’ll see the Google Adwords link on the left side. If you haven’t signed up already for Google Adwords, do so immediately. This is a great way to leverage your existing organic traffic and sales with those from your campaigns.

Once you sign up you’ll have to start a campaign and produce ad groups so that you can test and tweak what ads are working and what ads are not. But you should realize that your ad wording is not the only important thing you need to consider when preparing your ads. You need to also think about your keyword lists!
The more keywords you have when you run your campaigns the better. I always say about 80% of your words are not going to perform well and the other 20% are going to be good.

When you set up your Google AdWords campaign you don’t initially know which keywords are actually going to perform for you. So that’s where you have to do some testing and observing to see what your visitors are responding to in your ads. So, basically, if you throw a bunch of keywords into your campaign and run the ad, you’re going to figure out which keywords are getting impressions and which keywords aren’t getting impressions. This way you’ll know which ones are working and which ones aren’t.

If you run your ads for a day or two you’ll be able to see what keywords are performing for you. For those keywords that are not getting any or are getting extremely low impressions delete these. Take note of your keywords that are getting a good response rate. These keywords getting the impressions will be a part of your 20%. Then once you’re down to the top 20% keep this list of keywords and use it to create your new keyword list for your final Google Adwords campaign.

You can even create new ad groups! So, you have a campaign and inside each campaign you have an ad group. Therefore, inside that campaign you’ve created, you separate all the keywords into the list of the strong keywords that are part of your 20% list. This list is now more targeted or shall we say “niched” and will definitely grab more results from your visitors.

Better results equal higher returns for you and your business! A definite win-win!!

How to Avoid Having Your Autoresponder Message End Up In Your Subscribers Bulk Email

Using autoresponder programs to grow your list is one of the most important things you should do to expand your business and your bank account. However, you need the right autoresponder software but you also need to understand what should and shouldn’t be included in your email messages to your visitors.

First let’s begin with software. One of the best autoresponder software programs out there is Autoresponse Plus (located at www.autoresponderplus.com). This program developed by Neil Morgan is an excellent program that has no monthly fees! You make one payment and it automatically and efficiently manages your prospect subscriptions.

If you are using the software Autoresponse Plus for your autoresponder message set-up, you should be aware that it has a default message for the unsubscribe link. It says, “If you wish to unsubscribe, please click the link below.” Well, “click” and “link” are spam words, so those two words in your unsubscribe link could be putting you in the bulk folder. The last thing you want are your messages to be considered spam. You want to avoid this from happening at every cost.

What I highly recommend you do is in Autoresponse Plus… go into Systems, then Settings. Scroll down and Autorespose Plus will show you what their unsubscribe link looks like. You can fix the wording there and personalize it to suit your needs. Maybe rewrite the words so it no longer uses the words “click” or “link.” Instead, change the wording to something like this – “If you wish to unsubscribe, go here.” The less it sounds like spam the less chance of your message ending up in your subscriber’s bulk folder.

As far as autoresponders are concerned, I recommend single opt-in as opposed to double opt-in. However, I know many of my readers are seeing many of your autoresponder messages go into the spam bulk folder. Some of you have asked “…if you use double opt-in, would people automatically have to white list you, therefore increasing the deliverability?” The answer is no.

The one thing you might want to check, if your email messages are going into the spam and bulk filter is are you putting your name and address inside the emails that you’re sending out? It is essential to make sure that you have your company name, phone number, company’s physical address and an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each and every email you send out to your subscribers. This is extremely important! If you don’t, your email will be considered spam. And with the implementation of the Anti-Spam Act also known as CAN Spam Act of 2003 you don’t want to mess with that. Unfortunately, a lot has changed for the online business owner. More red tape and more to do but it’s the abusers who have made it more difficult for the rest of us. However, if you comply with the Anti-Spam Act you should have no problem sending your messages. These are just a few simple rules you have to follow to ensure your business complies and ends up being profitable in the end and making your autoresponder promotion a success!
