  1. The types of links you get should have varying Page Ranks, from PR 0 to the highest PR possible.
  2. The links should come from sites of both high and low authority.
  3. Naked links are more powerful than anchored links.

These three rules are the rules that govern the type of links that will work best in your favour. The process of getting free back links should be as natural as possible. Here are the recommended tips for getting back links:

Earlier this year, Google rolled out its Panda and Penguin updates to its algorithms. Google essentially adjusted the website ranking of those websites with poor quality content (Panda) or those spamming Google with keyword stuffing, linking schemes or using duplicate content (Penguin). The end result was many website owners who didn’t follow Google’s rules found their sites dropping in rankings.

How your website ranks in the search engines is the driving force of free traffic.

You can capitalize on this YouTube strategy of driving more traffic by making dozens of videos that demonstrate your product or service. Targeted videos that answer the top 10 questions your customers want answered is another way to get visitors to your website.

Here are 5 ways you can learn from others’ mistakes:

1. Fine tune your keywords:  There are numerous tools on the internet that you can use to identify your website’s keywords. To increase your chances of ranking for keywords, focus on 3 or 4 word keyword phrases rather than one word keyword. As mentioned in a previous post, large organizations have teams in place to rank for (and maintain) the top spots with one-word keywords. Keyword phrases like “auto insurance deductible” shows a lot of websites competing for this keyword phrase. The search of “auto insurance deductibles” did reveal the phrase “what is a deductible” with little competition.  A new keyword search of “what is a deductible” resulted in dozens of keyword phrases with significantly lower competition.  Your goal is to aim for 5 to 10 keyword phrases per product or offering.

2. Make a short video:  Google owns YouTube so videos produced and uploaded on YouTube have a good chance of ranking high in Google’s results.  Once you’ve identified your 5 to 10 keyword phrases, create a short 30 to 60 second video for each keyword phrase. Experiment with different types of videos such as cartoons, video doodling, animation, sock puppets or plain text. Track which videos get hits and repeat the process. You can talk over the video or just use a music file (be sure to follow the copyright rules). Make sure to include a call to action on the last slide such as “for more tips visit our website (show URL)”.

3. Share your video(s) with everyone:  The key to getting a lot of views on your YouTube video is to share the video on all your social media sites and ask your friends to share it with their friends. You can start by uploading the video to Facebook and share it with those friends and then Tweet about the video. If you already have a mailing list you can email the video link to your list and ask them to post comments or questions. Finally, you can pin a picture of your video’s thumbnail onto Pinterest.

4. Add backlinks to your video:  Backlinks are important for ranking which in turn brings visitors to your site. You want authentic, credible backlinks, though, spread over a few days and not thousands of less than credible backlinks all at one time. There are many websites that will create backlinks to your video site; it’s important that the backlinks be directed to YouTube or Facebook and not your blog as both YouTube and Facebook are considered authority sites. Once customers are at your YouTube or Facebook site, redirect them from YouTube and Facebook to your website (by saying “for more tips go to our website (show URL)”). Be sure to include backlinks from .edu and .gov sites as well.

5. Use your YouTube video as a video response to an already popular video on YouTube: Google, which owns YouTube, gives other peoples’ comments a lot of weight in the search engine rankings. You can take this one step further by finding a popular video in your niche and posting a video response to the popular video. Others will see your video response and may be intrigued enough to check out your YouTube channel.

You don’t have to create all the videos yourself; you can hire others to create them for you. Often, short videos in 30 to 60 second duration are enough to peak viewers’ interest. Be sure to create a lot of videos (with the hopes of one or more going viral) and watch your traffic increase.

Maybe you are among those who find a b split testing for conversions not exciting; do not worry, this article is meant for you.

Website owners have similar goals: to get conversions, signups, downloads, etc. nevertheless, it is not guaranteed which way will lead to the conversions. A b split testing for conversions is therefore applied. It is taking an element, creating its variation, and then testing the variations against each other. It is so simple, even a kid can do it.

  1. The most important element to be tested is target audience.  You should target a conversion of 42% with this element.
  2. The next important element to be tested is the Landing Page. Its conversion target should be 41%.
  3. The third most vital element on a b split testing for conversions is the subject line. You should aim at a conversion rate of 35%.
  4. The fourth element to be considered for testing is the Call-to-action. Its conversion rate should aim at 34%.
  5. The last important element for conversion should be Personalization. Its conversion rate should target 32%.

Search engine optimization (SEO) experts agree that having backlinks to your website is an important factor in successfully ranking high in search engine results. While none of the experts can say with 100 percent certainty that having backlinks to your website is part of search engines’ ranking algorithm, many case studies have shown the quality and quantity of a website’s backlinks as a key factor in ranking on page one in search engine results.

What are backlinks?

When another website inserts a hyperlink back to your website through a blog post or link, it is known as a back link. The anchor text within the blog post can either display your website’s name or it can use a keyword phrase both which includes a hyperlink back to your website.

If backlinks are so important, how can you get others’ websites to link back to your site?

Here are 5 ways to build quality backlinks:

1.   Ask for a link back to your website – If you have a joint venture (JV) partner, an affiliate or you’re promoting another person’s product or service, you could ask their webmaster for a link back to your site. This request should be relatively easy especially if you already have a relationship with the other person or you are partners in some capacity. The request should only be made to those websites where their products or services are relevant to yours.

2. Quality content – Every now and again Google tweaks its algorithm just enough to shake those sites at the top of search results. This last time, Google tweaked its algorithm in response to numerous complaints it received about websites with duplicate, re-spun, low quality content. Google listened and many low quality content sites were pushed back down into search engine results as a result of the changes Google made.  Take the time to create valuable content and you’ll never have to worry about your position dropping in Google.

3. Quality links – Backlinks from any site will not do; the overall quality of all backlinks has to be a combination of a few low quality links, a few high quality links and the rest somewhere in the middle. For example, if your goal is to obtain 10 backlinks, aim for 3 low quality links, 3 high quality links and 4 somewhere in the middle. Websites whose URLs ends in .edu or .gov are considered authority sites and as such are high quality links as well. A low quality link has a Page Rank (PR) of 0 while a high quality link has a PR of 5 or higher.

4. Look to trade organizations—There are many associations you may already belong to that allow their members to build a profile and include a link back to their website. Organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Trade or Civic Associations, the Better Business Bureau and Professional Fraternities and Sororities are a few that come to mind.

5. Sponsorships – Offer to sponsor a contest, a charity event, an activity at church, an organization or school and stipulate that they create link back to your website as part of the deal. The sponsorship will also give your business exposure to the community.

A final thought – never pay for links. It is against Google’s public policy for web owners to pay for backlinks to their websites, yet many entrepreneurs ignore this and pay for backlinks anyway. While these entrepreneurs may not have gotten caught yet, Google could penalize a website for violating their public policy. Google monitors the quality of incoming links to each site as well as how quickly the backlinks were acquired. In other words, Google will become suspicious if your site all of a sudden has several hundred backlinks linking to your site within a few hours.

A good custom fan page design is ideal for the attraction of fans to the page. Many choose to build a fan page but the pages struggle with less than ten likes. Even their own friends cannot like the fan pages. If you need to build a successful fan page, this article has been written for you.

Facebook is no longer for only the kids. It is the biggest traffic source in the social network and it is growing. They work best for groups and company pages as well. These techniques have been used by thousands of people and it will also work for you.

  1. When you create the page, go to “edit the page” and enter your website URL, address and operation hours.
  2. If you have a great logo, use it for your profile image. If it’s slightly boring, use an image that represents your company.
  3. Use a photo application like photo-shop to create a welcome screen image for your custom fan page design. It should have a width of 520px.
  4. Below the profile image click “Edit Page” tab. You can create a page for your fans and another for non-fans.

  9. For your custom fan page design, the recommended width for the profile picture is 200px. The height can vary.
  10.  Make the profile picture impressive and eye-catching. Keep it professional and in line with your product too.

Once you have your fan page built, you should engage your fans and interact with them.

  1. Start a meaningful discussion on the wall of your built fan page.
  2. I enjoy posting controversial questions on my Facebook fan pages. They attract a lot of replies.
  3. Promote free stuff on your custom fan page design. Your fans will appreciate them and like visiting your page frequently. They might also recommend you to their friends.
  4. Add Facebook widgets to your website or blog. This will help convert your website visitors to fans.
