“Do you have an Internet business model?”

If you want to take your business to the next level you have to do more than you are doing right now. This doesn’t necessarily mean working harder. It means working smarter. You can work smarter by finding out what the Internet business leaders do on a daily basis. You need to find out what they have done that has worked and follow this model.

Many people think that if they have a website and eBook then they are set. They fail to realize that you need a business model for your Internet business. The business model does not simply consist of your eBook. Your Internet business model must include ways to market your product on the Internet, plan for growth, and include diverse streams of revenue.

How can you create an Internet business plan? Let’s say that your first product was a DVD that you produced yourself. What do you do next? The first task is to find people that are rabid for your DVD. Find people that are interested in the topic that you cover on your DVD.

Also make sure that your audience has money to spend. This audience needs to perceive value in your DVD so they will spend money on it. To help convince your audience that your DVD is a great buy you can demonstrate what they will achieve and gain after viewing the DVD.

The next step is to not rely on your DVD alone. You need to produce additional products. For example, there are people that are interested in your topic, but don’t prefer the DVD format. They may be interested in experiential learning. You could create a home study course based on the material in the DVD. This diversifies the range of products you have to offer. This range will earn you more money.

A major mistake that many new Internet businesses make is that they focus solely on creating eBooks. Their eBooks include topics that encompass a wide range of topics. Usually the topics are so different from each other that they won’t satisfy their target niche audience. Instead, they can repurpose the information in their original eBook into products like DVDs, home study courses, teleseminars, and special reports. You will have a diverse product range that is of much more interest to your target audience.

Many people fresh on the Internet business scene also charge far less than they should for their products. For example, let’s say you ask a budding Internet business owner if they should send their comprehensive eBook for $47 or $97. What do you think their answer will be? Most likely they will say that you should sell the eBook for $47 because nobody will spend $97. This answer is usually incorrect. Experienced Internet entrepreneurs know that people will pay $97 for eBooks.

The big wig Internet entrepreneurs know that you should sell higher ticket items because you have to sell fewer of them in order to make more money. Plus, you should also make money in the backend through up selling.
