Building a website is not rocket science. Almost everyone has a website from your 5 year old kindergarten student to your grandmother. It’s fairly easy to do. However, some skill and knowledge is involved if you plan to be found by the search engines. There are certain things you need to do for the search engines to pick up your site and list you at the top of the search results. Let’s face it, without a good listing you may as well not have a website.

So, how do you improve your organic search for your website? What should your main focus be? Do you need to focus more on the meta tags or keyword density in the text of the website itself?” Well, actually you don’t have to focus on either really. Where you want to focus most of your time is on your backlinks. These are links coming from other sites and leading to yours. It’s best to get well-ranked sites linking to yours as this will show the search engines that your site is relevant which makes them place more value on it thereby improving your overall page rank.

You want other websites referencing your site as well. You want to be recognised as a site that’s credible. You want to be talked about. So having links back to your site with hyperlinked keywords (known as anchor text) pointing back to your site, is going to improve your ranking and your traffic. Now if you’re focusing on onsite optimization, then yes, it does play a factor in the overall performance ranking of your website. However, the most important factor in your website creation process is getting links to your pages. You need to ensure that those links you want to be hyperlinked, have a keyword pointing to the specific page in question. Basically, whatever links you have pointing to your site, you need to ensure that a strong keyword pertaining to your niche and to your page are present.

Relevance is also key. You’ll want to have those backlinks coming in from various sites are quality links from the same niche so that the link is relevant to what you’re talking about. That’s going to be the ideal situation for you to be in.

Do you need to focus on the meta tags? Yes, absolutely. Should you focus on the keyword densities in the text and the website itself? Yes, the first 250 words are critical. What you want to do is really understand what the search engines look at, just go to a site and right-click and choose View – and Page Source. You want to look at the Page Source. And you’ll notice on a lot of pages, the first thing that pops up is the title. So that’s the first thing you want to focus on.

The next thing that pops up is a lot of the meta tags followed by the keywords. What are meta tags you ask? Well, according to Wikipedia:

“Meta tags are HTML or XHTML elements used to provide structured metadata about a Web page. Such elements must be placed as tags in the head section of an HTML or XHTML document. Meta tagss can be used to specify page description, keywords and any other metadata not provided through the other head elements and attributes”.

So follow in that order when you’re optimizing your sites for the organic search, and that’s how you know what’s important.

A little extra effort when setting up your website can mean a world of difference to your bottom line.

It seems nowadays everybody talks about online marketing and hardly anybody, with the exception of Dan Kennedy, talks about marketing offline. Is offline still relevant in building your business? If it is, are there low cost ways to market offline? Absolutely! The truth is that we only hear about marketing online. We are constantly bombarded with emails about the newest tools to stay in contact with our customers.

It is true; Dan Kennedy is a master at offline marketing. Personally, I don’t do the “Dan Kennedy way” of using direct mail marketing, but I do perform a lot of email marketing. However, you could say I do a bit of offline marketing with a subtle spin on it. Actually, what I do is as soon as somebody does purchase one of my products, we always take them offline – whether it is over the phone or talking to them on the phone after they’ve purchased to possibly upsell them into another product. I’m not exactly sending them something in the mail but it is a form of offline marketing since I am not contacting them via the internet, but rather getting in contact with them the old fashioned way – with a simple phone call follow-up.

There are occasions where I will use offline marketing but it’s usually done after I’ve already made contact with them through online marketing methods. For example, sometimes what I do is when a customer purchases a particular product from us, it will be followed-up with a physical postcard being mailed out to those individuals. This is a great way to follow-up with your customer and maintain contact with them after their purchase. Once you have identified that they have already responded to you, you can then use direct mail to make another offer – like an upsell. This method adds a personal touch while also giving you potential access to more sales.

Once you see you have online buyers, you can do a lot of direct mail follow-up. You’ve got a hold of your target market and can continue to market to them again and again. Even if you don’t want to bombard them with upsells offline, you can also send them a physical newsletter or some other information package. Creating great offline content and sending it to your list via snail mail actually has a more responsive “stick rate”. You often get fewer cancellations for your products by adding that personal touch. Once your customer can hold onto something physically, they place more value in your offers. That’s exactly why I do it – because it works!

Get to know your customer, make them feel special by adding that personal touch every now and again and you’ll find you’ll have more loyal customers in the end, while making more sales!

For a new online marketer, the best and fasted cash idea you can use to make around $100 or more within 24 hours with no list and no website is to use social media.

Let’s just say you have no list and no money to start advertising, there are ways to draw people in without a website. The best thing to do is go use the social media website Twitter.com and send out tweets. So, you first need to go to www.Twitter.com and set up a Twitter account. Now, what you want to do is you want to go out into whatever niche or market you want to focus on the top people out there inside that niche or market.

After you determine who the “leaders” are in that niche you need to then find those people on Twitter. And then what you want to do is go follow the first 200 people that they have following them (their “followers”) because they’re the most likely to be people that actually are interested in the topic and information offered from that individual.

Your goal is to have them follow you back. If they don’t follow you back in seven days, get rid of them. But if they do follow you back, then you have them on your twitter list following you. Then you go out and follow some more people from another guru’s Twitter following. Simply rinse and repeat what you’ve already done previously.  Then once you do that, you want to pretty much ask a question. The question you want to ask is; “What is your most pressing problem at this moment?”  And people will be saying, “Hey, I really need this…” “I really need something on this.”

Then what you do is you go out, you find affiliate programs that match that individual’s need and then reply back to them with the affiliate link to buy the particular product that you’ve found that matches their most pressing problem and need. Basically all you’re doing is being the solution to their problem. This is an excellent strategy to use if you have time, but no website and no list. That’s a fastest way to build your list. The best thing about using this strategy is that you capture targeted names fairly quickly but most importantly you make money. So consider using this strategy and build upon it.
