How to Get Targeted Search Engine Traffic Quickly

Here’s the “How-To-Do-It Guide” for driving search engine traffic right to your website.

I only speak about methods I have used and that worked well for my business. There are a lot of people out there who will steer you in the wrong direction because they are just regurgitating old information that might have worked years ago. I’ll help you discover what’s happening right here, right now. Let’s get started with the plan.

Your first step is to define your target market. The better you are able to define your niche, the better your future clients will be able to find you and your products or services.

Next, you want to get very specific about what you’re going to market on your webpage and make sure that it’s congruent with our next step. When a person finds you on a search engine, you have a window of only 3 to 5 seconds to convince them that you are exactly what they were looking for. Make it crystal clear what you offer. If your meaning is unclear, the prospect will jump to the next site and you’ll lose that business.

The following step is to brainstorm your keywords – keeping in mind your target audience. How would they search for me? What would they look for? Don’t focus on how you identify yourself. The closer you are to your target audience, the more hits you will get, which equates to more customer traffic. The more specifically you target, the better off you are. You’re not going to have success if you list yourself too generically, there is too much competition and you’ll be lost in the crowd.

Once you have established your target market, define what specific categories you should be linking to and add them as part of your navigation page. A linking strategy is very important for building your link reputation. Links to your page will count towards link reputation and link popularity.

There are a lot of different search engines – six in particular that give you about 90% of all web-traffic. Of those Google has the most web traffic so we’ll focus on it. Google has a link page rank feature which rates the importance of your page. You’ll want to download their toolbar http://toolbar.google.com. This will allow you to view the ranking of every site you visit and how important it is in the almighty eye of Google. This is a key ingredient in determining linking strategy. Google ranks itself as a 10 on their scale of 0 to 10 (the higher the ranking, the more important a page). This is determined essentially by who is endorsing and linking to you.

You must map out how you’re going to get Google give to you a high page rank. For Google, the most important attribute is the title tag. You want to make sure you use your most targeted key word in the beginning of your title tag. Google will typically list the first 83 characters so the title is where you put your most valued key word(s) so it can be easily accessed.

The next maneuver is to focus on your link relevancy. Link relevancy is how well the text on your pages relates to your title tag, also taking in consideration the content of neighboring web pages. The analysis of all of this data enables Google to return results that are relevant to user queries. You want to be sure you are listed in user queries so make your content match your title, match your links, and match your products and or services. Remaining consistent and obvious is your key to directing traffic to your site.

Adsense – The Powerful Passive Income Generator

Webmasters have a revolutionary new method of collecting income from their websites.

Whereas in the past advertising revenue was reserved for those sites with large a coming and going of visitors, now even teenagers are making a quick buck with their online hobby blogs. People place adsense on their online family photo albums, their blogs and their business sites. The minimum you would get, even with a small amount of traffic, is for adsense to pay for your hosting costs.

Adsense revolutionized the world of paid advertising; banner advertising is based on the number of visitors you attract to your site, so the number of “banner impressions” dictate the revenue you receive. Google Adsense is quite different; it is the number of visitors that actually click on the advertising that determine how much you earn.

There is also a great disparity between payouts; because advertisers bid up the price for certain keywords, some ads pay more than others. As such, a site with few visitors but expensive keywords in their google ads can potentially still pull in a hefty payout.

Google really has taken the web by storm; attracted to passive income, more and more people are seriously capitalizing on their Google adsense advertising. Some of the highest earners manage to attract enough visitors to make a four figure monthly income, just from using adsense alone! This is not one of those get-rich-quick schemes and Google’s adsense success is largely thanks to the fact that Google already enjoyed a fantastic reputation before introducing the program. They are a publicly traded company with physical headquarters. This, and the fact that anyone can apply to use adsense for free, has caused millions of people to sign up. For google it was a smart move, because now they extend their presence to countless websites and generate millions of dollars in advertising revenue. People were never reluctant to sign up, because the program is free. Google benefits by more people using adsense, so offering it for free was the best thing they could do.

One of the driving forced behind the program are its relevance to each and every page on a website; the program picks up keywords appearing in the website copy and automatically displays relevant ads. This increases the chances of people clicking through, and the webmaster collecting more revenue.

People are leveraging their income by operating several websites and attempting to attract as many targeted visitors as possible; in many instances we can observe that people work hard at a site, then once it is established they can largely leave it alone, yet still collect significant checks.

A major concern for entrepreneurs was the danger of a competitors ads showing up on their site; thanks to the adsense feature where it only displays relevant advertising. However this problem was solved by offering webmasters the option of filtering out unwanted ads. They can submit the URL of the competing site in their account, and any ads from the website will be blocked.

Google recently came out with a new feature: small targeted keywords based on the site’s content are displayed; then as people click on those, a page opens showing a variety of pay-per-click ads based on that keyword. This gives webmasters the chance of displaying more advertising in less space.

Adsense also adds creditability to your website; the more focused the content, the better the ads will be and this encourages people to built high quality websites. These make the net a better place and generally provide a free service; site owners can afford to share their expertise or passions because they can receive indirect revenue’s. The visitor does not pay for the information; instead the advertisers do, making the website’s existence possible in the first place.

It is no surprise Google adsense is the most widely used form of advertising; they have created a program that is beneficial to both advertisers and users with their “no click no pay” mechanism, or more popularly called “pay-per-click”. Advertisers do not pay for ads that are not drawing visitors, and website owners are paid more for each click than they would if the system were based on the number of people viewing the ads, instead of clicking on them.

All in all Google adsense has developed itself into a powerful tool, used by large corporations and the kid next door. They have truly revolutionized how the web thinks about advertising and made the process more profitable for site owners, while less costly for advertisers.

Link Building Strategies

Well, an effective link building strategy is not building some 50-100 back links with sites with ‘X’ PR. It is more of getting links from the informative websites that is visited often by the people who could be your future customers. In broad sense the websites related to your focus industry.
Link popularity refers to the number of links pointing to and from related sites and is an extremely important method of improving your site’s relevancy in search engines.

There are three types of links that will increase the link popularity of your site; internal, incoming and, to a lesser extent, outgoing links.

Let’s take a look at each one in more detail.

Internal Links

Internal links are amount of links to and from pages in a site. Cross-linking your important related pages is recommended for a better search engine visibility. This assists search engine spiders to find and index your most key pages faster, particularly if some pages are hidden deep within your site.

Site Maps

Site maps or sitemap are visual models of your site’s content that enables users to find exact content or page on your website. Site maps are like interactive table of contents, with links leading to most or all the pages on your website. Site maps are organized hierarchically, breaking down the site’s information into progressively more specific subject areas.

Incoming Links

Incoming link popularity refers to links pointing to a site from other related sites. In addition, there are two types of incoming links:

1. Linking from your own sites

Crass linking as we discussed above is very much recommended for a better crawl of your site by spiders. You must select keywords that describe the site you’re linking to. You have to do this because some of the major search engines, such as Google, place a great importance on the text used within, and close to, links.

2. Linking through other sites

There are two ways of finding sites to link to yours. The best way to get other sites to link to yours is to ask them politely. And the best way to find likely candidates is to ask web sites that link to your competition.

To find out which sites are linking to your a particular competitor, visit a search engine such as Google and enter, “link:” followed by the competitors domain name (with and without “www”).

For example:

Link:google.com

link:www.yahoo.com

To check the link popularity of your own sites, simply use your own domain name.

Once you got the list of related sites, add a link to these on your site. Follow it by sending an email to each web site owner acquainting them that you have linked to their website and request them for a link back to your site.

Another important way to find list of sites that accept site submissions. To find such sites, visit a search engine, such as Google, and search for:

“add url” “your keywords”

Quotation marks are must as it ensures the search engine only return pages with the exact search phrases you search for. Also try replacing, “add url” with one of the following sets of search phrases:

add site, add link, submit url, submit site, submit link

Outgoing Links

Outgoing links refers to links pointing to other related sites from your site. Search engine spiders will crawl your site’s outgoing links and determine that the content of the sites you link to are related to the content of your own site.

Link Keywords

It is important to name your internal and outgoing links carefully. Since keywords play a major part in determining the relevancy of a Web page, it is essential that they are also included in link text.

Link Quality

The quality of the links is just as important, if not more, than the number of links to your site. The types of sites you should concentrate on getting links from include major search engines (Google.com), popular search portals (MSN.com), web directories (Yahoo.com and Open Directory Project – dmoz.org), high trafficked sites (eBay.com and Amazon.com), news sites (CNN.com), and sites related to your site’s theme.

The most important link building strategies includes:

Marketplace Understanding

First try to understand your marketplace. Make a list of all the market sectors you service, ranking them in terms of their importance. Choose a minimum of 3-4 niches and make a list of 250 websites under each niches. Go for link exchange only after this list is complete.

Content is King…

Content is what your potential customers will look for. It is content that will give your search engine rankings and would also help in getting links. There is no substitute for a good content, so unavoidable.

Content and proper optimization

Make sure the contents on your website is optimized properly with proper focus on keywords and nice heading, title and description. If you lack time then better hire someone to do the same.

Online Press Releases

Issuing online press releases is more of a one-to-many approach. You submit your release to a newswire and they distribute your news to thousands of journalists and editors on their database. Such releases can be picked up and covered by both national and local media and are certainly worth. Try Prweb.com or in the UK, Sourcewire.com.

But perhaps the best way of getting media coverage quickly is to use the knowledge, experience and contacts collected by others. Eric Ward’s URLWire.com service is the best.. Through many years of online promotion for clients, Ward has built an impressive opt-in list of over 19,000 journalists, website reviewers and writers.

Monitor and evaluate

At the start of this article, I said that link building was not about the number of links you could get. Likewise monitoring and evaluating is not simply a matter of counting how many links you manage to get. What is really worth measuring is the benefit those links bring your business.

So as a minimum you should measure:

* How much increased traffic comes from links

* Which links bring the most traffic

* How much does your search engine traffic

* How much your sales increase as a result.

URGENT: Google and AOL freakin suck…(READ This NOW)

Hi Friend,

If you are doing anything on the internet then
you need to pay close attention to what I’m about
to say about Google and AOL changes…

…but first. What do Google, ground
hogs and AOL have in common?

Nothing!

I just wanted to say Groundhogs
because it’s Groundhogs Day.

Happy Groundhogs Day!

On a more serious note.

IMPORTANT NEWS: Google and AOL have made some
major changes in the last two weeks that you will
want to pay close attention to.

Google incorporated into its search engine a Googlebomb-sniffing
algorithm
that somehow manages to identify and neutralise any concerted
effort to skew search results for a word or phrase.

Google’s search engine originally worked according to a
simple principle: web pages were ranked according to the number
of links they received from other sites, with each link weighted
to reflect a site’s popularity. That principle is still part of
the equation, but Google’s software has become much more
complicated over the years.

Google’s search engine operates according to an array of sophisticated
and secret algorithms crafted by the company’s brilliant coders.

It’s a machine that’s been tweaked to do precisely what
Google instructs it to do, even if that might mean filtering
results to protect the company’s reputation.

Regarding AOL, This one really tick’s me off.

Getting emails through AOL is getting tougher. AOL made changes to
Goodmail. Goodmail is a 2 year old AOL concept on a method of stamping
email’s destined for there users. The system was implemented in stages
with the latest stage coming online roughly 2 weeks ago.

Essentially AOL has shut down anything but whitelisted,
can-spam compliant, haebius or goodmail stamped email

Alot of people are getting emails stopped by them.

I was testing out a new server in Florida using a $36k
strong mail box (suppose to guarantee email to get through
– ya right), I personally saw 10k AOL emails blocked.

You may have know this part below but I wanted you to be aware.

Good guys, clean lists can get blocked too because someone could
accidently hit the report spam button right next to the delete button
and then aol blocks you. Read what aol says below:

“When an AOL member clicks “this is spam” for a piece of
email sent from one of your IPs, this is considered a “complaint”

IMPORTANT: What that means is a few people that
accidently click report spam can get you blocked.

Here are some things to help get through…

Are you abiding by CAN-SPAM act? Make sure that you put,
address, unsubscribe link and real phone number in the footer
of all emails. That will help you big time. :-)

To Your Success,

Matt Bacak

Can you get a squeeze page high in the search engines?

I just made a few changes to promoting tips website.

I have been doing some research on some keywords
that I want to get it ranked high for. You know many
people believe that you can’t get short one page
sites up high in the search engines.

That’s full of crap just go to google.com and
search for promoting tips. You will notice that
my squeeze page is ranked #1 for that term.

See this site is a one page website that I
created with the only purpose to capture peoples
information, just email and first name.

Inside that I teach email marketing and ezine marketing.

One Great Way To Generate A Lot Of Cold Hard Cash From Your Opt-In Email List

I bet you want to know what that one great way is! Right?!

Well, I have found that one of the fastest ways to make a lot of money from your opt-in email list is by giving teleseminars. Many people do teleseminars but just to deliver information. (FYI: Teleseminars, telecalls, and teleclinics are all the same thing; the only difference is the name.)

What I’m talking about is doing teleseminars and selling high ticket items. You see, I view teleseminars as just another media to sell your stuff and other peoples stuff. Just like a regular seminar. Because if you don’t, it’s a disservice to your listeners.

Here is step-by-step exactly how I put on my teleseminars and get 50% or more of the people that pre-registered to join the call. Pretty good compared to the average which is 1/3rd. Follow the steps that I’ve laid out for you and you can get a lot of people on your teleseminar and make tons of money.

These steps have brought in over 250k for me in less than 3 months.

First step, get good at selling your stuff to large groups or find someone that is a great closer and can sell a lot of their own stuff on the phone. If you do look for someone else, you want to find someone that has a high closing ratio on teleseminars. If you want to make more money, sell a higher ticket price.

Second step, create a landing page where people can register for the call and fill-out information. You want to make sure that you ask for their first name, email address and phone number on this page. The best way to capture their information is by using an autoresponder which allows you to automatically send them the pin code, phone number and other call details.

After you have the registration page up and your autoresponder is ready, start crafting your email. You want to make sure that this email only has one outcome and that is for the reader to Sign-up for your telecall.

Send the email out to your list or find other people who will send it to their lists.

People will get your email and sign-up for the telecall giving you their first name, email address and phone number. I have found that you want to send it at least two times to make sure that you get more people signed-up. Remember what’s happening as they sign up, they will automatically get an email from your autoresponder.

The average person that puts on teleseminars will get about 1/3 of the people that registered to the call that night because people forget about it, get diverted, sign-up for another call, or who knows but something may happen and they wont get on the call. Now let’s fix that!

I don’t like being average, I want better than average results and I get them! Here’s how:

30 minutes before the call email the group in your autoresponder that registered for the call and let them know that the call will start in less than 30 minutes along with the PIN code and Phone number again. Also, remember I said to ask for their phone number, well there’s a reason for that… you want to send out a voice broadcast and tell them over the phone that the call starts very soon. If you do this, you won’t find average results, 1/3, you’ll see 50% of the people on the call.

If you have a good sales presentation or a good closer on the call, more people on the call means more money for you. Go out and make it happen. Go try it. Test it out and see the money roll in.

The Power of Ezines

Free publicity is there for the grabbing. All it takes is a little creativity and a powerful ezine. Writing an ezine (commonly known as an email newsletter), will assist you in building credibility while marketing your company service or product.

Approaching the Concept
Before you jump into writing an ezine, take a few days to research what is currently circulating on the Internet. To do this, visit search engines like Google or AskJeeves and type in the keyword phrase “creating ezines”. On Google alone, you will receive 167,000 possibilities for resource information just for that day. Now tomorrow the number may increase.

You can use these same search engines to find an ezine directory. Don’t be surprised if you receive a large number of ezine resource links from your search. Most sites will offer you the opportunity to join its directory for a low monthly fee. Doing so will increase your odds of making money with a monthly ezine.

Whether you’re a business owner or a freelance writer, you should join as many ezines in your target market as possible. By doing so, you will always stay on top of “what is hot” and “what is not”. Subscribing doesn’t always mean you’ll need to shell out money. In fact, a smart business professional will GIVE IT AWAY free.

Ezine Success
If you’re Internet savvy, you’re probably familiar with a number of websites that promote ezines. From ‘How to Make Money in Real Estate’ to ‘How to Do It Yourself Home Improvements’, everyone who is anybody is promoting their service or product through ezine articles and the success rate is growing rapidly. This is due to the high demand for information on self-help topics, health and fitness, business and investments. No matter what the industry, there is a definite way to make money using ezines.

Online you’ll find FREE and SUBSCRIPTION ezines. Most ezines that are delivered free are done so to ‘perk interest’ of perspective customers. The consumer is given a taste of what is to come and the result is the purchase of a service or product. The intent of subscription ezines is the same, but cost the consumer a small annual fee. Sometimes the consumer will receive a package for their purchase. For instance, a free e-book on marketing or selling on eBay is received by every subscriber. And tucked inside each e-book are more money making opportunities for the ezine publisher.

Many publishers will permit a copy writer to submit a small article on topics that pertain to the publisher’s ezine. The writer gives the publisher permission to publish their article, free of charge, in exchange for the publisher including the author’s bylines. Normally, this small 3-line blurb directs traffic to the writer’s website, which in turn, creates more business for the writer. To me – this seems like a WINNING OPPORTUNITY

Without a doubt – ezines pack a powerful punch! Whether you’re a publisher or writer, you can make a monthly residual that exceeds a $1,000. It’s begins with understanding your market and ends with giving them what they demand.

Information Products For Profit

It is no secret that the internet has created the new generation of millionaires in only a few short years. Every few seconds a person starts a home business somewhere around the world, and the amazing thing is that the market does not seem to be getting saturated anytime soon! Business is booming, and for quick easy cash people are turning to the internet.

However, many of us are faced with the fact that we do not have a product to sell, nor do we have the infrastructure set up or the manpower necessary to distribute products. Nevertheless, a growing group of people are selling products right out of their home office or off of their kitchen table; how? Information products! Now regular bookstores and music stores are getting serious competition from our very own neighbors. The technology available to all of us makes it extremely easy to create your very own information product; whether that is a book, a music CD, a course, you name it! All you need is a computer and an internet connection, some time and virtually no investment!

Here are some products that you can create right now!

E-books

E-books are electronic books; it is like a regular book but they can be read on your computer, or printed out with a regular printer. Because you do not produce a “physical” product you also do not have any printing costs! So therefore, you can already guess, you will keep 100% of the profits you make. Even more powerful however is the fact that you can sell unlimited numbers of your book, and do not need any inventory. Nor will you be stuck with piled of unsold books. You create something now, and you can profit from it forever! You can write about anything you are knowledgeable about, or anything you would like to research further. If you do not feel comfortable with this you can easily hire a ghostwriter who will do it for you.

CD’s

The only thing you need is a CD burner and the sky is the limit; you can publish your e-book on CD, or a collection of books. You can also record you own music CD or publish a course. If you know how to write simple programs you can even make your own software. Again, all you need is a good idea because you will easily find a professional willing to develop your product for you!

Audio Cassettes

These go along the same lines as CD’s; you can sell a product people can listen to in their car, on their way to work. You can even publish an e-book and a cassette version of the same product to maximize profits! Generally all you need is a tape recorder that can produce good quality tapes, and preferably one with two tape decks so you can easily reproduce the initial tape you made. Audio Cassettes are a bit more labour intensive than CD’s, but if you truly want to reach your entire target market, they are a must.

Special Reports

These are relatively short “books”, or just a collection of pages on a particular topic. Remember those reports you wrote back in school? Think a few of those bunched together, on a topic people want to learn more about.

Self Help Products

All the products above can be used in this category; people are always hungry for information, regardless of the state of the economy. In fact, when there is an economic downturn sellers who specialize in books on how to save money or make money see their profits grow faster than normal! Knowledge is profit; and you are unique like anyone else.

How to Create a Product

You more than likely possess enough knowledge to create hundreds of information products; however because you are unaware of the fact that there are people out there who do not know what you know, you are more likely to think you do not know anything special or worth selling. Think again! Have your friends ever asked you for advice or help on something? Whether in a hobby, at work, or a relationship? Are you good at your job? Or extremely involved in a special hobby? This little brainstorming session should already give you plenty of ideas that you can put to work right now!

The next step is to think of topics you want to know more about. It’s likely that if you are interested in something, other people are too. Now all you need to do is some research and then develop the product of your choice; you will be doing all those other people a favor by presenting them with a solution to their “problem” without having to do any research themselves.
