“SEO is NOT the quickest way to get website traffic.”

What is the quickest way to drive traffic to your website? Search engine optimization is not the quickest way to drive traffic to your website. You can use search engine optimization programs to drive traffic to your website, but it is not the fastest tool. SEO is not something that will bring traffic to your website overnight. It will take you months to realize the full benefits of search engine optimization.

In addition, search engine optimization is time consuming and labor intensive. Just when you think that you have figured out all the rules and tricks of search engines, they will change their rules on you. Therefore, SEO is beneficial, but not the best way to obtain traffic.

The quickest way to drive to your website is through pay-per-click advertising. The best program to use is Google AdWords. You can literally drive traffic to your website within five to ten minutes using Google AdWords.

How can you maximize your Google AdWords campaign? Set up your Google AdWords account. Then set up your keywords. Google has tools that enable you to create a huge number of keywords. You can dictate to Google how much money you are willing to spend on a daily basis. This will be the limit your spend on Google AdWords each day. You can modify this level at any time.

It is important to note that some keywords cost more than others because they have a higher value. Start of at $0.06 as your bid per keyword. $0.06 is one step higher than the minimum. This will let you win the keyword most of the time because the majority of people bid the keyword at the minimum level which is $0.05.

How much does a keyword bid really cost you? If you have 100 visitors to your website that you will pay $0.06 * 100 = $6.00. You will pay $6.00 to Google. However, let’s say you earn $100 from these visitors because they buy your products. Your profit is then $100 – $6 = $94.

What about the higher bids per keyword? Let’s say somebody bid a high $6 for a keyword. If they had a 100 visitors to their website through this keyword then they owe Google $600. Wow! They need to sell a huge number of high ticket items to make any profit.

The lesson is that you should know your numbers. Figure out how much you spend per keyword, how many people click on this keyword, and how many of these people actually buy your products. This way you can determine your profit, if any, and figure out if you are bidding the right amount in Google AdWords on the keyword or keywords.

Be careful about the keywords you choose. You are not in the business to have as much traffic come to your website as possible. You shouldn’t care about the hit counter on your website. The key is to have as much “targeted” traffic as possible. Targeted traffic is much more likely to buy your products and that is the whole point, right? If you want to make money then it should targeted traffic should be your mantra.

Testing and tracking your business numbers should be ingrained in your psyche. Your Google AdWords program is no exception. Test and tweak the ads you run in Google AdWords. Test the words, grammar, and punctuation to see how it affects the click through rate and sales conversion. Google AdWords has tools that enable you to run split tests and figure out which ads are the most profitable.
