The Social Networking Groups that I Like and Why

Social networking is the way of the future. There are so many sites available like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Squidoo… there are a ton of them. But, it’s important to understand the social networking groups as well as your reasoning for joining them are. I can tell you about my experience…

I am in multiple different social networking groups and Amazon, who has their own social networking site, is one of them. I have a blog on Amazon. You can find friends on Amazon networking. If you haven’t noticed or joined this social networking group I highly recommend it. The reason I say this is because anybody can have an Amazon account, offer information, critiques and suggestions and could be more likely to sell or offer those individuals different things from which to generate revenue, such as your own books or products.

Another place I use is MySpace.com. MySpace isn’t one of my favourite ones out there. However, I still use them because the purpose of my MySpace account is to collect friends. Why? Because the more friends you have, the more you can promote yourself.

I also use FaceBook.com. FaceBook is probably the one that I use the most out of all the social networking sites out there. The interesting thing about FaceBook is that there are a lot of people that are using it on a regular basis and I find there are a lot more people that are in my target market and in my niche, that I’m focusing on. Though I do personally use FaceBook, I tend to kind of glance through FaceBook pretty much once a day and I do it whenever I’m bored or have nothing else to do. Notice that I did say “when I’m bored or have nothing else to do” or when I just need something to distract me away from the rest of the world, I’ll play in the FaceBook world. Basically, it’s a great networking site that I highly recommend you try especially if you’re trying to build your business.

Digg.com is another great choice! Digg allows you to have friends and followers and things like that. It’s great because it allows you to make announcements or post things that are newsworthy. This builds your credibility.

The last one I use is a place called Twitter. Twitter is a great social networking place and I like it probably the most of every single one. The reason I like it the best is because I only have to write a few words. You don’t have to write much, and you get to follow people’s lives on there. What happens is a lot of people are updating you on their lives. If you visit the site you’ll understand what I mean. But this is the way that I personally use. You can see what people are doing – sometimes an hourly basis or on a daily basis. It’s a good way to contact and keep up with people.

So, to summarize if you’re not using social networking to build your network, I suggest you start right away. It’s amazing how many contacts you can meet and this can help grow your business exponentially. The top ones I highly recommend are Digg, FaceBook, MySpace, Amazon, and Twitter.
