How to Make the Most Sales Using Free Information and Upsells

We all love things that are free and giving away information can also be a very good strategy if it is used correctly. There is a few downfalls in doing this, however, that you may not have thought about so I’ll share some advice with you.

First, the information that you give away has got to be good quality, otherwise people will end up not trusting you and never buy anything from you. By giving them something of true value it will more than likely give you more credibility, an appreciation from your readers and more sales on the back end. Remember, you are marketing on the internet and there is a lot of junk out there. If you mimic and rehash the same old stuff, people are going to get tired of you real quick, especially those that surf the net daily.

Another key point against giving away information is you want to do it in moderation. If your subscribers keep getting everything handed to them, they become spoiled and don’t really see a need to buy anything you are selling. There are many people that make this mistake and then wonder why their sales are so low. I myself have subscribed to an online magazine for years and I have never purchased anything from them for this exact same reason. I am given all the information I’m looking for free of charge.

The main idea is you want to give your prospects and subscribers just enough to entice them and no more. This, of course is a judgement call, but you can always add in extra value by promising them a whole bunch of extra bonuses when they purchase your product. What I’ve seen many marketers do is tell their customers they can keep all the bonuses just for trying out the product which also includes a money back guarantee.

Free giveaways are a great way to build traffic, but also gain loyal customers in the long run. Give away quality information and keep people coming back for more. Quality equals quantity when it comes to marketing online and offline. Give and you shall receive!
