Why it is So Important to Have a List

“The money is in the list”. I’m sure you’ve heard that expression a million times. You’ve especially heard it if you’ve spent any amount of time reading any of my articles or seen any of my products. I preach the importance of having a list only because that’s the only way to have a real business. You have to take the time to build your list, if you don’t already have one. It is so important. You need to focus on building your list because that’s where the money is. If you don’t have an opt-in page set up, you’ve got to ask yourself the question, “Why not?” Because that’s one of the biggest mistakes that most people make. They don’t do take the time to set up an opt-in page to capture the names and email addresses of their visitors. Once you’ve built your list, you have so many options available to you.

Now, let me discuss what you should NEVER do. If you’re spending money on AdWords to drive your visitors to a CPA offer or any other type of website without capturing their names and email addresses, that’s absolutely ridiculous! You need to capture those people first before you lead them to another website. It doesn’t matter if you’re leading them to a website using your affiliate link. You first need to capture those names, so that you can mail to them again and again. It is so important that you build your business so that you can present your list with various related offers in the future. This is the only way that you can build a solid foundation for your business. If you don’t have a list, you simply don’t have a business.

If you’re still deciding on a market, there is a question you need to ask yourself. What is your core focus? What’s the core market that you want to be in? Are you looking for the flavor of the month, like diet supplements, because you know there is money there? If that’s where you’re going to focus, then you need to build a list in that area and drive your AdWords through that list. So, you’re opt-in page for such an offer could say, “We’ve identified the best ways to lose weight” and then say, “Sign up right now for our free report.” Have them opt-in to receive your free report. After they access the free report, then they are lead to the sales page for the diet supplements. But essentially, you want to drive all of your traffic to this opt-in page.

Taking the time to build a list is worth every moment once you see the results you can achieve.
