But not only that, joint ventures or JV’s (as they are often referred to in the online marketing world), allows you to free up more of your time while focusing more on marketing your business. What’s best is that you can build strong relationships with people in your market and make more profits simply because you are using the power of leverage. Leverage is such a powerful thing that many people fail to realize it – especially when they are just starting out online. Often times they feel the need to do everything. Being the webmaster, marketer, writer and designer will not grow your business. It will only hinder you. JV’s are the best way to make things happen fast.

Let me explain. If you have any type of digital product that you have people promoting, you need to be able to have software installed on your website that allows you to set cookies so that if a sale is made by your affiliate or JV partner, you need to ensure that the right person will be able to claim their commission on the sale of your product. You’ll need to do this even if a sale is made at a later date.

If you’re using a shopping cart or an affiliate program, it’s going to do this automatically. It’s basically up to you to set the cookies inside your affiliate program. It’ll actually ask you how long you want to set your cookies for. It can be for life or 30 days, 90 days, or whatever time frame that you choose.

So in order for you to have an affiliate program, you’ve got to have access to affiliate software. But once you have set up your affiliate software on your website, it’s a fairly smooth process after that since the software will do all of the work for you i.e., setting cookies, tracking, payments etc. Once you set it up, you don’t even have to really think about it. It’s just going to ask you the question or criteria you want to use, and you tell it what you want it to do. It’s a fairly simple process.

Now go out there are start visiting websites of those individuals that you’d like to partner with. Put together an excel spreadsheet to organize your list of who has been contacted and their responses.

If you’re serious, you’ll need a reliable software program to track the sales results of your partners/affiliates. Once you do that, you’re almost there. Focus on building strong relationships and you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve. Good luck!
