Google Buzz

This may be obvious to many, but Facebook marketing is one of the best ways to become known and get your message out in front of thousands (or millions) of eyeballs.  Through the profile you create when you join, you can subtly demonstrate your expertise in your market and list your interests and background, which enables like-minded people to find you.

You can also build friends and potential business partners through your posts.  While you do not want to advertise blatantly, simply getting to know people and sharing your knowledge can increase your business more than you realize.

Facebook marketing lets you choose from about two thousand different applications you can use to network with others and create interest in your business.  Another great feature of Facebook is that you can use your RSS feeds from your articles and blogs to keep all of your friends and contacts updated.

One little secret that may help you more than any other is that you will find many highly successful marketers online to chat with.  And if you are accepted as their friend, you can message with them and learn various tips and tricks to use in your own business.  Using this incredible social networking site allows you a link to people who are usually very willing to share their knowledge and resources with you.

There are tons of different free methods you can use on Facebook to advertise your products and services.  Try using the marketplace, create your own community, or write on other people’s walls.  By establishing yourself as an expert in your industry and networking with others through all these ways, you will literally be putting your name and your product out there for the world to see.

Is Facebook marketing absolutely necessary for you to become a successful affiliate or internet marketer?  Probably not, but the people you meet, the number of resources for learning that are available, and the opportunities to market your business are your loss if you decide not to use this powerhouse!

  • Social Network Marketing is wonderful for anyone whether you have been online for a while, or just starting out.

Remember, however, it is not polite for a guy to walk up to a woman in a grocery store and ask "Wanna go to bed with me tonight?". To blatantly make a sales pitch for your product or service to someone online in a social network, who you are just meeting for the first time, will get you the same result...nothing but disregard and disrespect.

Treating folks you meet online with the same respect as you would in person will go a long way to benefit all involved.

  • So many heavy hitters in the internet marketing world just don't "get" social media - they see their friends and followers as an email optin list. And when they use them that way, no wonder they say "you just can't make any money with social media!" It's great that you, one of the heaviest hitters of them all, are speaking up to educate others about the unique value that social media plays in your marketing bag of tricks. I have my own spin on the topic, that I offer up in a free ebook: http://www.greenislandmarketing.com/smsebook.pdf
