The Advantages of Adding Social Media to Your WordPress Blog

Want to make the most of the social networking tools on WordPress? You can do it easily! All you have to do is create three additional tabs in the section that links to Facebook, Twitter, and OpenID. The way to get this functionality is to choose Twitter, Facebook, and OpenID by going to “settings” and then choose Twitter, Facebook, and then OpenID. That’s where you set it up so that you can easily link to those sites.

It’s simply amazing how social media can open a ton of doors for you. As an online marketer, it allows you to connect with like-minded people, but it also spreads the word out quickly about your business. This often makes it an excellent tool for list building as well as gaining the attention of the media.

I was recently asked about the plugin I used to get the “cool toolbar” that pops up along the bottom of my WordPress blog page which integrates with my Facebook and Twitter pages. Well, I do have to agree that yes, the tool is really cool in how it integrates with Facebook and Twitter. It’s actually called Widya. It’s in beta right now, so you have to request an invite. I’m not saying I’m special or anything, but there are a lot of sites or companies rather, like Twitter that have given me special access to certain tools that they’re adding, but the add-on tools are still in beta testing phase. And most recently a lot of different social media places are starting to give me access to various tools which is really cool. But do realize that a lot of times you’ll see some stuff on my site that I’m only playing around with that may not be available to the public yet. Actually, one example is that I got to play with Google 8 before Google 8 even came out. I’m on that hit list to try out various tools, which I’m definitely not complaining about. But I will share with you how they work and how I like it. But it is very cool none the less.

If you want to find out about tools about to come out that are still in the beta phase, just do a search online if you want to get one step ahead of the crowd. You could do a search for “Facebook beta tool” or “beta tool for…” It’s a great way to strategize as well as come up with new ideas for marketing your business even further with the use of various tools. This way you’ll be one step ahead once the tool becomes available to the public.

So, my advice to you is to definitely use social networking and social media in all of your marketing efforts. It not only establishes you as an expert in your field, but it also keeps you engaged with the newest tools as well as more engaged with your market.
