A Newbies Guide to Setting Up an Online Business

“I’m a newbie to all this internet marketing stuff. What is the first ten things that are critical to start making money online? I need guide steps”. This is something often asked of me from those just getting started online. It’s exciting to work with people who have a fresh start and being able to guide them on the critical steps for setting up their online business. It’s great because they can avoid spending time on things that don’t matter. Getting straight to the point and doing what’s necessary is very important. But for anyone starting out online, I always tell them this, you’ve got to make a big decision, and the big decision is what niche, what market do you want to get into? Do you want to get in the business to make money or do you want to get into the business as a hobby? If there’s something you’re truly passionate about, I’m going to tell you to really focus on that. It’s easiest to stay focused and work hard when you have a passion for something. Even if this passion is not your hobby, if you simply have a topic that you’re very eager to learn more about, this is an excellent place to start.

Your major obstacle starting out online is coming up with that niche. And I really can’t decide on a niche for your. But I will tell you, there are techniques you can use to help you decide. If you can go to the bookstore and find a magazine on the topic, it’s probably going to be a pretty good niche or a good market to get into, because they wouldn’t be selling those magazines if there was no money to be made in that particular market. So, that’s a great indicator for you. You might also want to look at the categories of the magazines. So that’s a big thing to think about as well. You may be able to find a niche within a niche that way. These markets can also still be very lucrative.

Once you discover this niche, then you’ve got a couple of critical elements that you need to do. One, you want to think about what’s going to be your ethical bribe, because your biggest focus is going to be building a list. In order to make money online, you need to build your own list that you own and can mail out to anytime, any day of the week. My next-door neighbor makes $14 million a year sitting at home on his butt, has one assistant, and pretty much outsources everything out. He has a list that he simply sends out an email to and voila, he makes money! Of course, the information and products that you’re providing to your list should be presented well and marketed well. You also have to build a good relationship with your list so that they trust you and want to buy from you. These are some other things that help make a business successful.

There are many strategies to making money on the internet, but nothing makes sense unless you have a big list. Email Marketing is the most profitable way to make money on the internet.
