Through persistence they crack the code and as soon as the code is cracked they start buying things because they feel they have the keys to the kingdom then they go broke.

Do whatever they did to make the money again, then they go broke, then do whatever they did to make the money again. Some people continue down this path while others wake up and realize that they don’t really have a business.

At that point they probably hire an assistant, start looking for people to work with them and start making more consistent money. At this point there is another cross road.

Many go down the path of building and building upon their teams, not looking at the bottom line, but only paying attention to their ego. Some continue at the smaller level.

There comes a time when the person that builds that huge business realizes that employees do not equal profits and many scale back.

At that point you must make a decision whether it is better to ask yourself this question: Do you want to build wealth or do you want to build an organization?

The Importance of “As Seen On” on Your Website

Trying to build credibility with a new website is important especially if you’re trying to get people to opt-in to a list. It may seem strange that you can establish credibility if you are new to the game. But it is possible. If you use various logos from sites that have referenced you or sites where your content has been presented, that can help you gain more sign ups. Your conversion rate can actually go up with this simple strategy. I have placed various logos from sites who’ve mentioned my website or where my site sites been featured. I place these logos at the top of my site. This is basically the first thing people see when they visit my site. I have logos for various media outlets. By placing these logos at the top of the page, I’ve already increased the amount of sign-ups on the form I have placed on my site, simply because my visitors already trust me. I appear as a credible source to them. This will inevitably help me gain a more loyal following and make more sales in the long run.

But is this the only thing you can do? What about adding video to your opt-in page? Well, there’s a reason why I don’t use video on my opt-in pages, and that’s just personally, I’ve found that videos on my opt-in pages don’t increase my conversions. Of course, you’ll know for sure if you test how well video works on your own opt-in page. But in my testing, I’ve actually had to remove the video because my site simply failed to convert. But if you’ve tested and received good feedback from your testing, and video does prove to convert well for you, make sure that you place it in the right area of your page for best results. I would have “as seen on…” at the top of the page and then put your video underneath it. Then have your headline underneath that along with everything else. That’s a better way to present it.

If you’d like to produce a well-converting opt-in page, I recommend that you use my site as a guide. Basically, model the framework – the look and feel, but not really the words. If you’re going to use the “as seen on” strategy using various media logos and don’t have any credible media outlets, you might want to have “As see on…Facebook, Twitter,” etc. Using social media sites like these actually still work very well. Of course, you should be referenced on these sites. If you’ve set up your own Twitter account and “tweeted” use their logo. Placement of such graphics work wonders as to how many people sign up to your list and opt-in. But always remember to test and track your results in order to achieve the best conversion rates.

If you’re just starting your online website, and you’ve determined which niche you’re going to tackle, next you’ll require a domain and hosting account. If you want to make choosing a domain and host a fairly simple process, purchase them in the same place. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to purchase autoresponder software so that you can place a form on your website to capture the names and email addresses of your visitors.

Now what you want to create is use the coding given to you by your autoresponder, to create an opt-in page specifically designed to capture information. Now, what I would suggest is, you might want to go online and look at some opt-in pages. First of all, you can go to my site, and you can take a look at how I put together mine. You can also do some searches on the internet and see what sites come up on Google AdWords as well as which ones come up in the regular search. Then simply take a look at your competitions websites.

The sites that you know are doing well in your niche, consider seeing how they put together their opt-in pages so that you can model it. Don’t copy it exactly but just use it as a guide and model what they’re doing so to speak. Look at how their opt-in page is written and kind of rewrite it. So, let’s say you went to my site or went to a site like that. To copy it, all you have to do is highlight it and select all the copy on the page, copy it and then paste it into a Word document. Once you’ve placed it in Word, then you can modify the words etc., and you could quickly have your site content complete and up online.

How do you get it up online though?

Well, you’ll require a web editing software. There are several different types of editing software, so you will just need to find one that you are going to be comfortable with. But if you want the free route and don’t want to spend any money at all, then you can find programs out there that are free.

If you put in the time to complete your website, you should have it up in no time. Those who succeed are the dedicated few. Hopefully that’s you!

How to Start an Online Business With Little Money – Part 1

Not having a lot of money to start an online business should not limit you to venturing out on your own. Although you do need some money upfront, it’s a fairly small investment that won’t break your bank account. So, what exactly do you need to get your online business up and running fairly quickly?

Well, you’ll need to have your market in mind and plan what you want to have for sale on your website. You also want to have a clear idea as to the information that you’re going to make available on your website. You’ll need to do this prior to purchasing your domain name because you’ll want your domain name to be made up of keywords related to your niche, as well as the products and information your making available on your website. For example, if you sell golf clubs and golf equipment to young rich female players, you may want a name that not only has the keywords of the products you’re selling, but also helps brand your site while targeting your niche audience. You get a sense of who your target market is while knowing what’s offered on your site prior to even going there.

Next you’ll need a hosting account. You need to make your site visible on the web so you’ll need to purchase a monthly hosting package. One word of advice, never build your site or try to make money online using a free hosting account. You’re building a business that could potentially do very well in the future. You don’t want to risk losing everything by hosting it on a free account. Invest a little money monthly because you’re building a business not a hobby site.

Your domain is usually a yearly fee that can be in the price range of $2 – $15 for one year. And hosting can range from $3 up to around $14.99 per month. It really depends on the company you use and what offers and discounts they are making available at any given time. But going with a company is pretty simple especially if you’re just starting out. You can purchase both your domain and monthly hosting package from them.

After you have your domain and hosting packages you can begin to design your website. Of course you can outsource the designing as this will ease the pressures of having to do it yourself. However, if you’re on a tight budget and don’t have the funds to hire someone, you can do it yourself. But that would also mean that you’ll be doing your own copywriting as well. So, look online for some good resources to help you with your sales page. You can also complement that by reading my article titled: Evaluating Your Sales Letter. That will give you a breakdown of the components necessary for writing a good sales letter.

Evaluating Your Sales Letter – Part 2

In part one of this article series I spoke about how to begin your sales letter. You need a strong headline, warm and friendly salutation and a background color that is going to entice your reader to stay on your website and read on. However, now I’d like to address how to begin the opening paragraph of your sales letter.

Now for most of my opening paragraphs, I like to start mine off with a very short sentence or just a word like, “Are you frustrated?” or “Frustrated? Followed by, “Not making money online really sucks. Believe me, I know it. I’ve been there…but you came to the right place…” – and continue on from there. The most effective way to open the sales letter is to get straight to the point and the point is “What’s in it for me?” Where “me” represents your potential customer, not you. So, address your reader by telling them what’s in it for them. If you can give them this information right away, they’ll listen more intently to what you have to say and be encouraged to read on.

One thing to consider when writing your sales letter is you don’t want to write too much and be too wordy as this will scare off your reader. They don’t want to be bombarded with too much writing all at once because you can quickly turn them off. So, break it up into smaller bite sized sections. Remember, grammar is not that important in the game of online sales letters. Writing the way that you’d speak to a friend is extremely important. Sales talk doesn’t work. If you look at my sales letters, you’ll realize that.

Another thing you don’t want to do is pressure the reader too early to place an order. I would instead, move your offer down and add in some testimonials. Consider adding some free bonuses if you have them and lastly your guarantee. You really need to build your story to draw on people’s emotions of frustration, greed, etc. It’s really important that you work in a flow that makes sense, that draws the reader in so that they keep on reading until they have this burning desire to buy.

A very important thing is to also establish credibility. In other words, what gives you the right to let them know about this product or service? To establish this, one thing you could do is say, “I’ve studied under some great marketing minds or “I’ve studied some of the greatest internet marketing minds out there and I came to the conclusion that this information is tried and true.” Something like that. You want to make sure that you give them a reason why your claims should be true and why they should believe you at all. You can also add credibility to your claims by stating famous people that you might’ve helped or special cases that you might’ve worked on. Give examples such as these as it will help you produce a much stronger sales letter that will result in more sales.

So, try to gain credibility by backing up your story with proof. In part three of this article series I’ll address the importance of testimonials. Testimonials are strong and can help you garner more sales. You’ll also discover how to end your sales letter with a bang – a bang that entices your reader to buy.
