SEO Internet Marketing

By: Matt Bacak

Any entrepreneur looking to increase online sales has heard of SEO internet marketing. This is where a website is built to sell a specific product or service by targeting certain keywords. This is done by modifying the content, coding and layout of a site. That being said, there are two main types of SEO internet marketing. They include:

1. Black hat SEO internet marketing

This is a type of SEO internet marketing where a person results to unethical methods to gain higher search engine result page ranking. The definition of this type of internet marketing depends on the search engine in question. Internet marketing can referred to as black hat if it violates a search engine’s terms and conditions, tricks users into taking an action that may result in an unwanted purchase, subscription etc., tricks search engines spiders into awarding higher search engine ranks and the like.

Implementing this type of SEO internet marketing usually results in a permanent black listing of a website. Some of the common black hat SEO internet marketing techniques known include:

Keyword stuffing – A SEO internet marketing technique that involves spamming an entire website with long tail keywords without any actual content in a bid to attract bots.

Cloaking – An SEO internet marketing technique that entails using scripts to hide a link, animation etc. in order to avoid penalization by search engines or to cause end users to follow a link.

Hiding text – This is where a marketer uses the same color on the text and background. This means that a human will not be able to read it but a bot will award a higher rank to the web page.

Other black hat internet marketing techniques involve using link farms, doorway pages, buying links from high traffic sites etc. An internet marketer should seriously consider the consequences that these SEO internet marketing techniques will have on business before implementing them.

2. White hat SEO internet marketing

This is the type of SEO internet marketing where a person follows all the rules and regulations laid out but the search engine. The marketer aims at increasing organic traffic by creating superior content and a very good end user experience over a long time. The marketer also has to factor in creativity in order to get ahead of the competition. Some of the techniques found under White that SEO internet marketing include:

Unique content – The marketer takes time to research and develop unique content based on the niche in question. He will take time to optimize the article for certain keywords and form a unique angle in an effort to attract both bots and humans.

Link building – This is a SEO internet marketing technique where a marketer looks for back links from high traffic sites in order to get more referral traffic and a better SERP ranking. This is done using guest posting, commenting, article marketing etc.

Other white hat SEO internet marketing techniques include improving layout, adding media to articles, using social media sites etc.

A business minded marketer should find ways to creatively use white hat SEO internet marketing techniques, even if this entails borrowing a few ideas from black hat marketing e.g. proper keyword placement instead of spamming.

By: Matt Bacak

First, you should submit your articles to all the popular article directories. When webmasters and ezine publishers look for free content to reprint on their websites and in their newsletters, they turn to article directories.

In exchange for the free content, they agree to leave the article intact and include your resource box. This is where you get your traffic. Every time someone reprints one of your articles, your resource box is included with your name and a link to your site or an affiliate site.

You should start with 10 articles. That will get you started as an expert author at EzineArticles.com, the number one article directory on the Internet.

EzineArticles.com alone gets about 40,000 visitors every day, so your articles are very likely to be picked up and reprinted by several publishers.

Here are the top places to submit your articles:

http://ezinearticles.com

http://articlesfactory.com

http://articlecity.com

http://articledashboard.com

http://goarticles.com

You can find more directories by searching on Google. But I highly recommend you start with the list above.

I personally use them myself.

By: Matt Bacak

Building a website is a skill that any internet marketer or webmaster should possess. This used to be a very complex thing to do but at present, one can create a website without much in the way of coding and design skills. One of the best tools to use when building a website is NVU. The following is what you should know about it.

What is NVU?

Basically, NVU is a free online program that makes the process of building a website very easy by using a WYSIWYG editor. Website creation using NVU is almost intuitive allowing you to easily create a website, publish it and make any changes without having to buy any third party software. NVU has been around for a long time and is also popularly known as Kompozer. You should only download NVU or Kompozer from the official website to avoid getting malware.

Creating a page

When building a website, download and install NVU into your computer and run it. You should see a page with the name ‘untitled’. This is where you’ll add written content, images, video etc. when building a website.

The next step is inputting your written content. You can either type in the text or use HTML. Most people prefer using plain text because NVU auto-generates the corresponding HTML very accurately. This not only saves time but also prevents coding errors. There is a preview button at the bottom of the page that allows you to see what the webpage will look like when published. This will allow you to make necessary changes when on the developmental stages of building a website.

After inputting all the content, you can choose to style it into something more eye-catching for your readers. You go about this by selecting the text you want styled and choosing the ‘Font’ option on the main menu. There are numerous font options to choose from but you should only go for easily readable ones. You can choose to change the font size by going to ‘format’ then ‘size’.

Adding media when building a website with NVU is equally easy. All you’ll need to do is select a desired position on your webpage, select ‘insert’ then ‘image’. A dialog box should appear from which you can search your computer for the appropriate image. After this, fill in the alt text and click OK. This is the process to follow when adding any image on your web pages.

Publishing a page

After building a website, you’ll need to upload it to a server so that internet surfers visit it. All that’s required when publishing a completed webpage is to click ‘file’ then ‘publish’. You should then fill in all information accurately in the dialog box that comes up. This information includes:

A site name – This is a name that allows you to identify it from all other projects. To avoid confusion, use the same name used when saving the page.

Http address – This should be in the form http://www.abcd.com/ if your root domain is abcd.com.

FTP address – This address will be provided by your domain host and varies from one host to another. This address should be followed by the directory the webpage should be uploaded to and should be in the form ftp://ftp.abcd.com/public_html/.

Username and password – you should get this information from your web host.

In a nutshell, NVU removes the complication usually encountered when building a website allowing even unskilled people to design very effective ones.

7 Points for a Follow up Email

By: Matt Bacak

A follow up email is very important because it helps you foster a better rapport with the respondents. This can then lead to more sales, more traffic, more suggestions etc. There are a few guidelines that you should follow in order to make each follow up email very effective. They include:

1. Capture attention

You have to think of creative headlines and opening paragraphs to convince people to open any follow up email you write. One of the best ways to do this is to add the person’s name in the title and in the text. Come up with a few ideas and test them all to find out the most effective ones.

2. Create curiosity

Find a way for people to want to find out what is contained in your follow up email. This can be done by creating mystery in the title and opening paragraph. For instance, you can put your title in question form and make people search for an answer in the body. You also have to show them how they stand to gain from your follow up email. You could tell your respondents how the product is not for everyone, what it is not, etc.

3. Tell a story

Formatting your follow up email into a story form will break down people’s barriers to being sold to, capture their attention and therefore give you a platform on which to pitch your product. You also have to make respondents identify with the story line for maximum effect. For instance, if your follow up email is about driving, you could make a story with a title ‘do you make these driving mistakes?’ and follow it up with a short story.

4. Dispense useful information

Your follow up email should show respondents how they could use your product to solve any problems they have. This will further help in convincing them to buy your product. Your follow up email should also contain detailed directions on how to solve a particular problem with your product. Each follow up email may also contain a link to free e-courses and webinars that educate your readers on how to get the most out of your product or service.

5. Create trust

Each follow up email should be crafted to increase the level of trust your respondents have in you. Once respondents know that you want to help them and not just make money from them, they start paying attention to each follow up email you send out. They also convert more readily. A good way to improve trust is dishing out a lot of free and useful information about the subject matter. For instance, if your follow up email is about building furniture, you can add information about where to get the best raw materials at the lowest price. When creating trust in your follow up email, you could add some negative aspects of your product and take a soft sell approach.

6. Add facts to claims

If you are pitching a product in your follow up email, you should make claims and back them up with facts. This will allow your respondents to believe your claims. These facts can be in the form of customer testimonials, figures, video etc.

7. Create scarcity

Your follow up email should prompt respondents to buy your product as soon as possible. You can do this by offering time limited bonuses, discounts, special offers etc. You should also explain the reason as to why you are doing this to your respondents.

In a nutshell, taking time to think of an effective follow up email series will go a long way in increasing sales, website traffic and rapport with your respondents.

I’ve got another cool tip that will bring you traffic on complete auto-pilot potentially for years.

You do the work once and turn on the “machine” and let it work for you 24/7 365 days a year.

I’m talking about Viral Marketing.

Here’s how it works…

You create a basic product on an in-demand topic in your niche and turn it into a PDF.

Write a salesletter and create a simple download page so that all others have to do is edit it with their name, order link, and download link and upload it.

Here’s the driving force behind this method…

- Include *Transferrable* Master Resell Rights!

Make note of this inside the PDF after the Title and before the Table of Content or the start of the product content.

You want everyone who gets their hands on it to know that they can pass it along.

Side note – they typically will be too lazy to do so if you do not give them the necessary means to do so. I’m talking about passing on the sales page, download page, instructions on setting it up, etc… everything possible to make sure they won’t have an excuse not to pass it on.

Here’s something I’ve done in the past with huge success.

I created a report, had a graphic made for it, created a simple, professional looking opt-in “squeeze” page for it and provided instructions on how to insert the autoresponder email form to the page and how to upload to their site so that all they had to do is send traffic to it.

I even included a ready-made email or two that they could paste into their autoresponder.

Just to make SURE they took action, I included a couple of traffic generation methods that they could use right away to start getting traffic.

But I took the report one step further…

I made it brandable so that others (if they chose to) could brand the report with their affiliate link to resources or recommended products listed in the report.

Of course, some of those products were my own.

FYI: I used ViralPDF.com to make it brandable

Do you see how powerful this can be?

I was getting affiliates signing up to my affiliate program week after week on total auto-pilot.

Now, you have to understand, every time someone downloaded this ready-made list building system they TOO had transferable master rights!

They could sell it or give it away.

If you REALLY want something to go viral, I would highly recommend that you make sure to include “giveaway rights”.

——————Hot Tip——————–

Include an Ad for your highest converting “squeeze page” inside your viral report so that you can build your list on 100% auto pilot while others do the hard work!

———————————————

To give it every chance of getting exposure on the net, submit it to ebook directories.

Just do a search for them in Google :-)
