Getting Keywords for Paid Advertising VS Keywords for Article Marketing
By Matt Bacak

Marketing online takes some getting used to especially if you’re new to online marketing. There are a ton of tools that you’re told you need to get in order to dominate your market. For example, there are a wide selection of keyword tools available on the market, but only a few get recommended again and again. I’m not a huge fan of keyword tools. And anyone who knows me or has been following my teachings for any number of years knows this. I use free keyword tools to help me get more traffic to my websites. But one thing that is important to know is that I use two completely different keyword research strategies for paid advertising, then I do for my article marketing. And although these are two very good free keyword research methods, I feel that it’s important to differentiate the two.

Now, the way that I come up with keywords for my article marketing is through using Google’s Wonder Wheel. I’ve already explained exactly how I use this Google search tool to do this on a number of occasions, so I won’t go into detail here. But if you look at my previous articles written on the topic, you’ll get details on how I use Google’s Wonder Wheel.

Now, how do I come up with keywords outside of that, like if I’m running pay per click campaigns or cost-per-view (CPV) campaigns? Well, for paid advertising, I actually use a little different strategy than using the Wonder Wheel (for article marketing). I do this because in that environment, what I’m looking for is I don’t want to get looky-loos coming to my website. I refer to “looky-loos” as people who only browse around without any intention to make a purchase. I want to have buyers coming to my website, not lookers. And the reason, of course is that because I’m spending money to get somebody to click to go to my web page, I want to make sure that they’re the right person to come to my website. I want a person who is ready and willing to spend money.

For paid advertising I go online and find a good resource. Since I want to find buyers, I want people eager to get my information. And since I’m personally selling information, I want buyers for my products. Now let me explain how I’d use a paid service to gain more traction in my market. So let’s just say my keyword is “personal development.” In the search bar, I’m going to put in “personal development” and type that in. So when I type in the words “personal development,” multiple things are going to occur. One thing that’s going to occur for me is it’s going to give me names of books and it’s going to give me authors’ names. Try using the author’s name as a keyword. Well, the name of the book would be a possible keyword. Another thing that you can do is come up with book titles inside your niche. Use these book titles as possible keywords as well. This technique has worked very well for me.

Now, I’d like to share where to find the best keywords from paid sites, that will give you the best keyword results.

One important thing you need to make sure that you do when using it for your keyword research, is to only use the authors names and book titles that are listed on the first page of the authority site. This is extremely important, because it is ranking them by popularity. And since they’re ranking them, the top ones on the page, are the ones that are getting the most action. More people are searching for them – meaning that more people are buying them. So, now you’ve got a list of the top keywords that people are searching for.

Sometimes when I do a search in Google, for example in an area like “personal development,” what happens is it’ll also give me suggested keywords to do other searches for. So, basically, this will allow you to use those keywords as well. It will say “people that search for this word also search for this other keyword”. The newer search words that they suggest can then be other keywords to use as part of your research. So, that’s a good example of how to do some keyword research and potentially take your research to the next level.

There are many strategies to making money on the internet, but nothing makes sense unless you have a big list. Email Marketing is the most profitable way to make money on the internet. When you build a list of hot and hungry prospects you control your future. Discover how to use the internet and turn your computer into a cash gushing machine.
How to Use Google AdWords to Set Up a Campaign to Get Results
By Matt Bacak

If you are using Google AdWords to market your website I commend you. Google has a ton of opportunities available for online businesses. Their platform not only allows you to carefully create specific ads suited to the needs of your market, but it also allows you to quickly reach your market with just a bit of effort. So, if you are considering using Google AdWords located at Google.com/ads, there are some tips I’d like to share with you. It’s not a very difficult process, you just need to know ahead of time the needs of your market as well as what you have available to them.

Looking even further at the paid side, the right-hand side of Google, those are paid ads. Those are ads that show up for products you want to pitch to your market based upon keyword terms that they enter in the search engine. So, let’s say someone typed in “weight loss” and you had a website selling weight loss pills, if you entered that same term “weight loss” into your ad, anyone who searched for that same term in the Google search engine would see your ad appear on the right hand side. How do you place an ad there? Consider signing up for a Google AdWords account. Basically what you’re going to do is go to Google AdWords website located at Google.com/ads. What you’re going to do is you’re going to walk step-by-step through the whole process that they lay out for you. It’s fairly simple. For example, they’ll ask you specific targeted questions to ensure your ad is targeted appropriately to your needs. AdWords asks various things like; “Hey, where would you like your ads to appear? What country?” They’ll say, “Hey, what ad would you like to appear?” “Hey, what keywords would you like, when somebody searches for those keywords, how much money would you like to spend if somebody clicks on these words, clicks on your ad?” And that’s kind of what happens on the paid side.

Then what it does is it’ll determine your ranking by two different variables. One, what keyword and how competitive that keyword is, and two, how much you’re willing to pay. The more money you pay, the better results a lot of times, or the better your ad is, the better you’re going to pay.

If you put in the time and energy whether you’re using paid or free search, you should have no problem gaining some good traffic numbers which will help propel your business to the next level.

When you run an online business it is always extremely important to know where your customers heard about you and how they landed on your site in the first place. Did they read an article, see your press release, click on your Google Adwords campaign or find you through the search engines? You need to know this so that you can evaluate what things are producing the best results and bringing visitors to your site. Remember, you want to minimize your time and effort and also spend your advertising dollars in the right place – a place that’s going to produce results!

So, how do you go about asking your visitors how they heard about you? Well, it’s a fairly simple process:

Basically you would use an autoresponder software program to produce an opt-in/sqeeze-page. But before you produce your opt-in page and ask your visitors how they heard about you, you’ll have to place this page in the right area of your website. Don’t just ask the question on any old webpage, “…how did you hear about us”? This is doomed to fail if you do this in the wrong area of your website. It’s useless to ask if your visitor really hasn’t done anything. If you do you’ll lose your traffic and you wouldn’t get them back at that time.

You don’t want to give your visitors too many options. So, the best time to offer an opt-in page is if your customer has made a purchase through your website. Don’t forget; let them do one thing at a time. So after they have bought a product from you, send them an email and ask them: “Hey, I just wanted to know how you heard about me?” That way they would be more willing to respond since they’ve already purchased from you and they also see that you are interested in them.

This is the best way to gain feedback from your visitors. You’ll find out exactly how they heard about you. There will be no guessing. Based on the feedback they provide you’ll see where most of your traffic is coming from and make the necessary changes of where to put more or less of your time and money. It’s a great way to leverage but also a great way to hear what your visitors are saying and a great way to offer them exactly what it is they want.

Warmest regards,

If you’ve ever been in a niche where your Google Adwords keywords campaigns were pricey, here is a great way to reduce the amount you spend on your bids. Does 16 to 18 cents sound good to you? Well, there are multiple ways to do this. The biggest thing you need to do is testing and tweaking to get your bid down. Now, I know that’s probably not the answer you’re looking for because this can be very tedious and time consuming, but really there is no other way.

At the beginning, you’re kind of like going fishing. We’re going to throw out a big net when we go fishing. We’re going to go out and find all these different keywords. And then what we’re going to do is we’re going to break those keywords down into smaller things. For example, if you do keyword research and you discover that for the term “books”, a whole list of different keyword phrases containing the term “books” pops up. Now, some of these keywords are searched for a lot more than others, so what you want to do is group the most popular keywords all together. Once you start doing this, you use the 80/20 rule; 80% aren’t going to work, 20% are.

So, from that perspective, what I do next is I take that and then I say, “Okay, here’s the 20% that are working, now let’s go break these down.” So, I will pull out, let’s say 20 words that were in books and go create another ad group and throw those 20 words that were in books into this group. Then, I keep on breaking them down.

Basically, what I’m doing is keyword structuring or what I call “marbles”. At the beginning of our Google AdWords campaign, what I do is grab the bag of marbles and pour it all over the table. Now what we want to do is break them up into little segments, creating ad groups. So, we have this one campaign which is the marbles and now we want to break them down into different colors. The reason we do this is because we don’t want one keyword affecting our whole campaign. So we break them down from there.

Then once we get even closer, even deeper inside that, the next thing is creating the correct ads. We’re testing ads with a group of words. This will help determine which words have a good click-through rate (CTR). You want to have a good click-through rate because Google’s going to reward you for having better marketing. So if you’re a better marketer than the other guy, you’re going to be making more money for Google, so they’re going to be willing to actually lower the cost per click for you.

So, essentially, it’s really about testing and tweaking, what I said at the beginning. If you’re running an A/B split test, a lot of times you’ll have two different ads with a group of keywords. What I’d highly recommend is only changing one variable. Don’t have two separate, different-looking ads because you’ll never know what is really causing you to have better click-throughs.

The goal is to get the click-through rate up. If your click-throughs are from zero to 1.5, you’re doing okay. If it’s 1.5 to 3, then you’re doing really well. If it’s above 3, you’re doing great. If you haven’t achieved this then make some modifications that you can track and keep monitoring it. Eventually, you’re going to get really good at it and may even have fun doing it.
