Remember, however, it is not polite for a guy to walk up to a woman in a grocery store and ask "Wanna go to bed with me tonight?". To blatantly make a sales pitch for your product or service to someone online in a social network, who you are just meeting for the first time, will get you the same result...nothing but disregard and disrespect. Treating folks you meet online with the same respect as you would in person will go a long way to benefit all involved.
