How to Promote Affiliate Products

If you would like to make some extra money and know a thing or two about marketing online you can make some good residual income with just a bit of effort. But most people think that you have to have your own product to make money online. However, that can’t be further from the truth. The reality is that you can make money with other people’s products. These products are affiliate products and you can make a nice living online if you can sell these products.

Basically, one of the first things you need to do to really establish a business online is not just selling to random individuals. But you need to capture those individual’s names who are interested in your products. The only way to do this is through an opt-in autoresponder sequence so that you own your list and can re-sell to them again and again.

So, how is this done, you ask?

Well, what you do is you send out good, solid information that your readers are looking for. This is information that is not readily available elsewhere. So, with this great information you want to also ensure that the time and effort you put into gathering and sharing this information is rewarded. A great way to make sure you are rewarded is by promoting an affiliate product and hopefully making multiple sales. However the best way to do this is through an opt-in or name squeeze page and writing a selection of seven messages. Basically, in each email message to your potential customer you offer them excellent information in seven email messages.

On the third and seventh email you should be promoting a product that your customer would definitely be interested in. By doing this your chances of making a sale are far greater because this list you’ve acquired is already pre-sold because they opted in to your sequence and are interested in your particular niche. They are definitely interested in the subject or niche you are a part of but they just haven’t found any good information elsewhere. That is why they are turning to you. They have a need and they want you to fulfill that need through what it is you are offering them. And hopefully your affiliate product should fulfill that need in helping your reader. But, making sales will also help you, not only by helping others, but by helping you monetarily. You should be able to make a nice income from it as well.

So, if you haven’t joined an affiliate program in your niche do so now. It’s amazing how many good products are available that offer excellent commissions for just a bit of effort.

Warmest regards,

Matt Bacak

How do you get people’s complete address info so that you can send them postcards, newsletters, etc.?

Now this is a very good question because a lot of people don’t feel comfortable giving you all their personal information. So, how can you do this in the shortest time possible without having to sell them something first? Easy!!...You bribe them.

As long as you have something of value to offer, you have a potential bargaining tool to use to get information. You can say something like “I’ll tell you what, if you fill in your information in the form below, I will send you a link to where you can get more information on this”. Now this is just an example, but I’m sure you get my point. People always love getting something good for free....well almost free....and the fact that they’ve maybe familiarized themselves with you and your site builds even more trust.

Another thing I do is bribe them with an audio download or something they can download instantly. The easier you make it for them to receive their gift, the more likely they will be to give you their information.

I may also put in a little disclaimer at the bottom telling them that their information is safe and will not be sold or retransmitted in any form for any other purposes. This is always a good idea because people are sick and tired of receiving unsolicited spam emails and this will just build more confidence and credibility on your behalf.

Another thing you can do is just tell them the truth of why you are requesting this information. If they know it is to send them a newsletter with valuable tips inside or coupons for products or promotions in the future, then this too can be a tremendous bargaining tool!!

So don’t be afraid to ask because of some preconceived notion you have about invading people’s privacy. Don’t forget, you are giving them something for it. When you can offer something in return it makes getting what you need a whole lot easier. The more good stuff you have to offer, the better are your chances for success.

Warmest regards,

Matt Bacak

Divide Your Teleseminar into 3 Parts for Ultimate Success!

As any web site owner knows, and if you’ve read any of my articles you know that I am a big fan of teleseminars. But what many web site owners fail to realise is that there is a science to holding your teleseminars – a 3 step process. Let me explain...

What I usually do is divide the teleseminar up into three major parts. Now, the first part we have is before the call, the second major part we have is during the call, and the third major part we have is after the call. These are three key important parts.

Now, the first part is really focused on getting ears to phones. Your personal job is to get as many ears to phones as you can possibly get.

For the second part you’re going to want somebody to get on the call, such as a JV partner or someone like that to do some or all of the talking for you. You want to make sure that they have the ability to sell and to make you a lot of money, or you have the ability to sell. It’s really important to make that happen.

The next thing you want to do is make sure your merchant account is set up. I use PowerPay. I run everything through PowerPay. And so what I will do is – if there’s something happening in the background, let’s say I’ve got somebody else that’s speaking on my call. I’ll say, “Hey, let me know what your offer is? Do you have your offer online?” They will say yes or no. If they say, “Well, I’ve only done this offline at seminars,” then I’ll say to them, “Okay, well, tell you what, are you going to offer the same package that you offered at those events?” They’ll say, “Yeah.” I’ll say, “Can you email me over your order form, the exact order form that you would give people when you’re selling it from stage?” And they’ll say, “Okay,” and they’ll send it over. Basically, the reason I ask for that is because that order form is what I create and I set up inside my shopping cart. I want to make sure my merchant account is set up with my shopping cart.
But inside my shopping cart, I want to create an order form.

With the order form you can use what’s called a top html. And that top html is going to be saying the same exact thing as that file would that you would be handing out - the order form. So it’ll have, like – a lot of times people will say, “Yes, I’m ready to discover XYZ and save this much money with the following bonuses.” And then it’ll say Bonus #1, Bonus #2, Bonus #3, Bonus #4 or 5, whatever it is, and then a guarantee a lot of times. So you can have a special link, and this will be a link that the shopping cart will create for you, which when people go to it, will actually go to an order form where they can fill in their personal information like their first name, their last name, their email address, their phone number, and their credit cards information.

These are the first three things you must do when setting up your teleseminar. It’s a great process that has worked very well for me and returned huge results. I’m sure if you follow this three step process you too will see great results!

Warmest regards,

Matt Bacak

Do You Have a Winning List?

If you have a website business you already know the importance of having a list. Your list of prospects are those that you can email again and again in order to promote your offers and make sales. But how do you know if your list is good you ask?

I’ve heard a lot of people say that they have a terrible list. But what you have to realise is that it is not your list that is bad, it’s about how you approach your list that needs some improvement.

I always ask business owners who make these statements... “Have you tracked how many people actually clicked on your links? Do you know how many people got the emails? Do you know how many sales you had? Do we know how many impressions, or do you know what your open rate is?” People often are unable to answer these questions. But they fail to realise that the answers to these questions should be the basis upon which they build their list and make sales. Basically if you had zero sales there is a problem and it’s often not with your list.

The numbers you want to look at when it comes to emails are:

What’s your impressions? - If your impressions aka open rates are low, it means that your subject line or your deliverability needs improvement. I use Autoresponse Plus for my autoresponder email messages to my prospects. If you’re using Autoresponse Plus, you can use link tracking. It’ll track all of these things for you. If you’re using something else, you’ve got to figure out how that software tracks it so you can see the results.

What’s your click-through rate (CTR)? – Once again, check your deliverability. Your email message may need improvement.

What’s your sales? – If your sales are low, that means your sales letter is weak and needs improvement.

The biggest problem I see most people have is they don’t add curiosity to the subject line of their email. If your open rate and your impressions are low, that means that people are either not getting your email or your subject line is very weak. And so what you need to do is you need to build a better subject line.

Here’s an example of one of the ones that worked really well for me. It was actually about a tax attorney that I wanted to have on a tele-call. But I said, “My attorney wants to speak to you…” Now, that got some heads turning. Remember, there’s nothing different between a subject line and a headline. Add curiosity and you’ll definitely see an improvement in your CTR.

Another thing to consider is in order to increase your email open rate is not to exceed 50 characters per line. As long as you communicate with your prospect like they are your friend and you keep your emails short and sweet and then send your readers to the sales letter page you will see an improvement in your conversions.

Follow these tips and see your sales soar!

Matt Bacak

“One Email = $87,500 Profit”

Did that headline grab you? How could you earn $87,500 profit from sending one email? It’s simple. You send an email through a Joint Venture. This joint venture was an email sent the day before Christmas. The joint venture partner changed the wording of the copy I had written. The email I gave them wasn’t the email that he sent out. So who knows – I could have earned even more money.

So here are the real numbers…
They sent the email to 39,000 people. 5.5% clicked on link in the email. I sold 502 Free CDs. I collected $3,600 for the shipping and handling.

Here’s the secret of the amazing profit…
We were offering the people that bought the CD a free phone session. During this free phone session we get on the phone with them and up sold to them. We were going to up sell them to a $3,500 product. Of the 502 people that bought the free CD, 80% ended up scheduling a phone session. Of these 400 people, we sold the $3,500 product to 1 out of every 16 people. So 25 people bought the $3,500 which accounts for the $87,500 profit. We earned this from sending out one email.

Let’s go back to the free CD for a moment. Many people wonder how to handle fulfillment. How much will fulfillment cost you?
There are two ways to run fulfillment:
1. You can do it yourself. It will cost $1 for the CD and 73 cents for postage in the continental US. So we charge $5.77 for the CD and pay $1.73 for mailing it and for whoever is making the CD and mailing it.

2. Have somebody else do it for you. This will cut more into your profit, but sometimes doing your own fulfillment can become tedious.

So take this example to heart and realize that through up selling you can earn thousands of dollars from one email in a joint venture!

Matt Bacak

“FAQ about Email and Autoresponder software”

If you want to make money in your Internet business you know the importance of sending out emails. Emails aid in the relationship with your subscribers. It also trains subscribers to buy products from you. You will send numerous emails and come across questions about your emails and Autoresponder software programs. Read on to find the answers to common email and Autoresponder software questions.

AutoResponse Plus Questions
Question: Here’s my situation. As an affiliate, I sent out a broadcast email to my list. I’m having trouble with inserting the first name in the proper area of the broadcast email. My question is – How do I insert the first name in the first name slot correctly?

Answer: Go into your AutoResponse Plus software program. Look up in the right hand corner of the screen. In the RED area there will be a line that says “Dynamic Content”. Click on this and it will bring up a page that shows you what the email broadcast page should look like. Follow this format and AutoResponse Plus will automatically populate the first name slot correctly. You can preview the page to double check that you inserted the first name in the appropriate spot.

Question: What does the AutoResponse Plus backup save?

Answer: It saves your list into your AutoResponse Plus account. So if you messed up your account then you can find this backup and fix your account. It is also recommended to save a backup to your computer as well.

Email Questions:
Question: Does AOL have any new rules that certain words such as “free” are no longer a barrier?

Answer: AOL constantly tries to prevent spamming which can have a rollover affect into legitimate emails as well. In the past, you had to insert extra punctuation with words such as “free”. For example, you had to write “f.ree” to get your email through the AOL spam filter.

AOL rules change often. I find out the changes through testing. Lately, I haven’t had any problems with words such as “free”. Currently, you can write them without extra punctuation.

Question: Does AOL have any new rules about what content is required in your email?

Answer: AOL does have one new rule. When you send out an email you need to have your name, address, phone number, and an unsubscribe link in your email. AOL wants to know that you are legitimate.

“Keep those Emails Coming!”

Send out emails constantly. You need to have constant traffic to your website. If you are not sending out emails then you are not maximizing your profits. If you want to make money then send out emails. Let me repeat – if you want to make money then send out emails!

Set up an email schedule. Send emails every week. Why? If you are emailing every single week then you know that you are making money on a consistent basis. Ask yourself each week about what you want to sell that week. It doesn’t matter how many people you have on your list. You may have heard of “ABC – Always be closing.” Instead think of “ABE – Always be emailing.” Don’t be afraid of emailing and promoting your products.

Of course you want to not just send sales type emails, but also emails that provide content. But don’t be afraid to promote and sell. If you want to make money then you have to promote and sell constantly!

A major advantage of sending emails on a consistent basis is that it gets your list used to you. You establish a relationship with them. Plus, the more emails you write the more practice you have. You can work out the kinks of your email copy right from the beginning.

Be aware that some subscribers may email you back wondering why they are on your list. People forget that they signed up for your list. People might call you bad names, but don’t worry about it. Just delete those emails and move on. You can’t be afraid to upset your list. If you are scared or upset easily then you need to get out of the email marketing game. Yes, it is a game and you have to be a tough, confident competitor.

Many top Internet gurus receive hate letters. It is part of the game. You have to not worry about receiving these letters and not taking them personally. You can’t please everyone all the time. Keep this in mind so you can stay strong when you are faced with people who have issue with your emails.

You know are doing things right when the world divides. You may have people unsubscribe from your list. But, guess what? Those people that unsubscribe probably weren’t going to buy your product anyway. Delete these people from your mind and move on. Focus on the subscribers that are positive and buy your products!

Tip: A little controversy in your email and marketing can go a long way if you do it correctly.

Matt Bacak

“Track your Numbers to Maximize Profit!”

You need to analyze all the numbers in your Internet business. For example, using link tracking in AutoResponse Plus is a great thing to do. In AutoResponse Plus you get code under link tracking. You put this code in your email. Then when people click on this link in the email you can keep track of their action. It is a great way to track who responds to your email.

How do I interpret the link tracking numbers in AutoResponse Plus?
Let’s say you sent out an email with the link tracking code link at the bottom of the email.

The following situations can happen.
Situation #1: If you have a low amount of impressions. For example, you sent out 5,000 emails and only 20 impressions. This tells you that the tracking link didn’t work or that your subject line of your email was ineffective and terrible. Low impressions means that nobody opened up your email. The impressions are essentially your open rate.

Situation #2: Let’s say you sent out the email to 5,000 people and you had 3,500 impressions and 0 clicks. This means you have a higher open rate. The 0 clicks can mean that the software malfunctioned or that your email copy was awful. Basically, a lot of people opened the email and looked at, but didn’t like your copy.

Situation #3: Let’s say you sent out the email to 5,000 people and you had 3,500 impressions, 2,000 clicks, but 0 sales. The 0 sales meant that nobody bought your product from the sales page. The copy on your sales page must not have been effective. You had a significant number of people read the email and clicked on the link, but nobody bought.

Situation #4: Let’s say you sent out the email to 5,000 people and you had 3,500 impressions, 20 clicks, and 19 sales. This means that your sales letter is great because 19 out of the 20 people that clicked to your sales letter bought your product. You had a high conversion rate. However, since only 20 people saw your sales letter than you should work on your email body to get more people to your sales letter in the first place.

Tip: You have to track these numbers because you need to know if you have to fix your subject line, email body copy, or your sales page. If you don’t track these numbers then you will have no idea why you are not selling your product or service.

Tip: If you need help go to http://www.powerfulpromoter.com/howto

Tip: Your numbers are your business. You need to know what your numbers are so you can focus on fixing the areas that are fledging. For example, you may need to fix your email subject line so that you get more impressions (or people that will actually open up your email).

Matt Bacak

How to Significantly Increase the Number of Attendees at your Next Teleseminar

Teleseminars are a great way to connect with your customers. You can provide information, answer questions, and market your products and services through teleseminars. You can also invite your joint venture partners to talk on your teleseminar. The marketing opportunities and ideas are endless. Following are situations and questions about the components of a successful teleseminar. Internet gurus will reveal the secrets to achieve this goal.

One major concern regarding teleseminars is the number of subscribers that attend the teleseminar. An example of this concern involves an Internet marketer that put on his first teleseminar. He sent an email to his subscriber list of over 2,000 email addresses. He sent an email twice a day for three days regarding the teleseminar. The copy on the emails was top notch as it was written by copy writing professionals. However, when it came time for the teleseminar he had low attendance on the call.

This left him to wonder the source of the low attendance. Was it due to the quality of the subscriber list? Was it that his subscriber list was not used a teleseminar? What could he do to significantly increase the attendance at his next teleseminar?

Internet Guru Answer: We need to examine his situation more closely. Did the Internet marketer set up a squeeze page that enables people to sign up for the teleseminar? Did the emails have a clickable link to the squeeze page? Did the Internet marketer track the number of people that clicked on the link in the email and then actually signed up for the teleseminar?

First of all, don’t worry if you have low attendance at your first teleseminar. Low attendance can be the result of many factors. For example, your subscriber list may not yet be “trained” to attend your teleseminars. Be proud that you gave a teleseminar. Keep providing more teleseminars and your subscriber list will catch on. The attendance level will increase if you are persistent.

You should also verify that you have a squeeze page for each teleseminar. The squeeze page should enable each person to sign up for the specific teleseminar. This specific list will go to an Autoresponder. This helps you keep track of who and how many sign up for the call. Plus, you can then market to this quality list before and after the call.

You can also track the link from the email to the squeeze page. Make sure to check how many people clicked on the link AND actually signed up for the teleseminar. These numbers will give you a conversion rate concerning the number of people that actually signed up for the call.

Another way to significantly increase teleseminar attendance is to bribe your subscriber list. For example, tell your subscriber list that if they attend the teleseminar then they will get a free bonus worth a good chunk of money. Also after they sign up you can send a voice broadcast to remind them to attend the teleseminar. Recommended voice broadcast systems include: Voice Shot and Market Touch Media.
