How to Structure a JV Deal

The way to structure a joint venture (JV) deal is fairly simple. First of all, if it’s just a JV opportunity like you’re holding a tele-seminar together and agree to split the profits, then really what you want to do is have one person handle the money and then divvy it out through an account that you both have access to. That’s probably the way that I would do it. However in the planning stages get something in writing. You could have verbal emails going back and forth, just stating how everything’s going to work, so that just in case your joint venture doesn’t work out (not saying that it won’t), but you need to protect yourself and have proof of your agreement in writing.

Basically, if I’m planning on having a long-term business relationship with my JV partner I create a corporation with that individual. It may sound extreme but it’s not. This is what I do when I plan on making several deals with this person over a fairly long period of time.

What I do is we open a corporate bank account together. All the money from the merchant account goes into that bank account and then it gets divvied up from there. This is a good this to do because we have the corporation stating who owns what, so that way we make sure that everything’s getting taken care of properly and equally.

Now if you were going to do it what happens is whenever anybody purchases from you, your merchant account will send an email to both you and your JV partner at the same time to let you know that you’ve both got orders. Merchant accounts are excellent at tracking this type of information which makes it fairly simple when doing partnerships like these. However, it also can be taken care of at the shopping cart level. If you share access to a shopping cart, this can also track orders and notify you both of sales. So that’s another option as well.

But one major point I want to make very clear is to make sure that one thing you do when you are splitting the money is that you are taking out the merchant account fees. It will cost you about 3% on the way in for each transaction and 3% on the way out. So, if you have any refunds or anything like that, you want to make sure you take out that money on the way in and the same goes for the money on the way out. It’s really important for you to do that.

Either way, having a system to track orders is the best way to ensure a smooth business partnership where you can easily track what’s going on. This is the best way to keep a tab on your business.

Warmest regards,

Matt Bacak

Do You Know The Right “F” Word for Success?

One of the biggest things to stand between most people and success is fear. Fear can be defined in many ways. There is only one “F” word which you should consider if you want to be successful. That word is…This article will show you what FEAR should stand for in your thinking.

Once you have begun to think positively and use decisive language, you will need to learn how to move from thoughts and language to action. When you begin to take action there are two important “F” words. The first word, FEAR, can stop you from reaching your goals, stop you from super-sizing your lifestyle.

You may have heard this before - probably from Brian Tracy. You hear many speakers saying it…

They say that FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real.

FEAR

False
Evidence
Appearing
Real

Well, I thought about that and they are right. But here’s my spin on it, it’s not only False Evidence Appearing Real, but it’s also, False EDUCATION Appearing Real.

FEAR

False
Education
Appearing
Real

Some people are educated the wrong way. That is why I want to share this information with you. If you live in FEAR, you will never get the results that you want.

The other “F” word is FAITH. You’ve gotta have faith. Have faith in yourself. Have faith in you husband. Have faith in your wife. Have faith in your kids. Have faith in your business. Have faith in your idea. You will see results! Have faith in other people, too. Not having faith in other people is a huge problem that many of us have. You have to have faith. Your Faith moves you forward through action and leads you to the result that you desire.

Let me ask you a question. Do you know your personal cost of not developing the Internet Millionaire Mindset? Do you know the actual hard cost? I’ll tell you one of the costs for me, was looking in the eyes of my child and my wife at Christmas and knowing that I couldn’t give them what I wanted to give them. I couldn’t give them what they wanted or needed.

The thing that changed my life, and I do not often share this story. I grew up in a small town outside of Youngstown, Ohio, a hard working steel town called Cortland. We didn’t have much money. My parents gave me a budget. My parents told me, “If you want to buy expensive shoes, and the cool clothes that the other kids are wearing. You have to earn the money for yourself. You have to go out there and make it happen.” I said, “Okay, I will.” I went out and got a couple of paper routes.

One of the last stops on my paper route was an assisted living community (or as I called it then, an old folks’ home). I would sit around and talk to them. The old people would say, “Boy, if I was your age” and “I wish I would’ve done this” or “I could’ve done this and I should’ve done that.”
They were telling me all the things and they wished they had accomplished in their lives.

I remember many of them saying to me “If I had the money I would have invested in stocks, or I would have started business because I could have made a lot of money.”

I remember one day, I was on my way home from my paper routes. Instead of passing by the waterfall at the old mill, I rode my bike down to the water with my paper-bag on my shoulder. I threw it on my bike; I ran underneath the waterfall and made a promise to myself: “I will never end up like those people – full of regret. I do not want to end up like that. I don’t want to ever say, ‘I wish I had done this, or I wish I could’ve done that.’”

I want to live life without regrets. I want to emphasize that to you. Think about all of the things you could have done, you should have done, and you would have done, but you did not. It was fear that stopped you from doing those things. I want to challenge you to start moving in faith, because absolute miracles will happen for you.

Warmest regards,

Matt Bacak

“6 Victory Tips for a Successful Business”

Success tips come in many forms from recommendations on the best conference to attend to how to change your mind so that you are headed towards victory. Following are six tips that can lead to victory in business.

Victory Tip #1: To be successful you must overcome your fear or failure and its kissing cousin, the feeling of rejection. This can be difficult, but is necessary. You have to have the optimism to trudge forth regardless of how many obstacles jump in front of you. You have to ask for things even if you might be rejected.

Victory Tip #2: Since the world’s most successful people fail more often then they succeed we try to look for ways to be immune to failure. They may have failed a lot, but have succeeded more times than anyone else. For example, you may be happy if 3 out of 10 direct email sales letters are successful. The successes make up for the failures. You can still make loads of money with more “failures”.

Victory Tip #3: Put yourself at risk often. The secret is not to go below the waterline. If you put a hole in a boat below the waterline then the boat will sink.
Positive risks include: dating, door to door sales

Victory Tip #4: The number one fear in America is public speaking. Practice public speaking. You will be more successful if you can present your ideas well. Join a public speaking group like “Toastmasters”. 56% would rather face death than speak publicly.

Victory Tip #5: People fear that entrepreneurship is to risky. This is a fallacy. You are at more risk of being fired by an employer. Try getting a job when you are over 45 years old. It is difficult. So becoming an entrepreneur is sometimes your most viable option. Running your own business will actually provide you more security than working from somebody else. You don’t have to worry about being fired because you are the boss.

Victory Tip #6: Send an email to your list about you, your business, and your products, and services. Send emails to people that you want to work with even if they are rich and famous. What’s the worst that could happen? The person simply doesn’t respond. Send several email postcards and/or direct mail postcards to increase the chances that you will have a “yes” response to your requests.

These six victory tips should convince you that you can run your own business and achieve your dreams. These tips will guide you through the process and provide the best environment for triumph.

“5 Success Tips from Multimillionaires”

Success Tip #1: Magic really exists. Following is a story to demonstrate this statement. One day, a top corporate business man in New York City looked out his office window. He saw piece of land. He thought the land was unusual because the land was empty and didn’t have a building on it like every other square inch of Manhattan. He used his imagination to visualize a building on the land. He closed his eyes and thought that a building was really there. Guess what. A building eventually was there. A building which he built now graces that land. He used his thoughts to attract the reality he desired.

Basically, thoughts are what cause action. Energy always causes thoughts.

If you can convince yourself that you can become a multimillionaire by the end of the year then you might become one. Your belief might not be correct, but it might happen. Visualization is an extremely powerful skill. It lets you control reality with your mind alone.

Success Tip #2: Burn a few bridges. This means that you quit your job so you have no choice, but to succeed in your own business. A lot of people aren’t successful because they have something easy to fall back on. For example, they have the security of their “day” job that prevents them from realizing the full potential of their dream. There is a very powerful psychological aspect and motivator when you have burned bridges.

Success Tip #3: When anybody tries to put you down understand that they are wrong. They don’t know that you have it in you, only you do. You know that you can succeed and that’s all that matters. So don’t listen to them!

Success Tip #4: Have you read “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. Read this book over and over again. It chock full of valuable inspiration and advice.

Success Tip #5: Be bold and strong forces will follow. You will find that people who told you that you couldn’t succeed now follow you after you’ve been successful. It’s funny how once you lead the pack; people change their minds about you. This type of confidence is very, very powerful.

Success Tip #5: Look at end results. “Dream like you’ll live forever. Live like you’ll die today.” Set short goals that you can accomplish today. When you set your dreams set them big.

These five success tips helped an 18 year old start a million dollar online business. He was steadfast in his goals and determination. Learn from his advice and turn your business into a million dollar venture as well.

Matt Bacak

“Reprogram your Mind to Achieve your Goals”

What are the goals for your business? How many products do you want to sell? How many new customers and contacts do you want to make next month? Take time to think and write these goals down. What is stopping you from achieving these goals? No matter how you word it most people don’t achieve their goals because they worry. Plus, they don’t utilize the power of attraction.

What is the power of attraction? The power of attraction consists of purposeful actions and mindset that attracts the things you want to you. It means putting your concrete goals and wants out into the universe. With these goals out there, the universe will respond by sending what you want your way.

One of the most effective ways to utilize the power of attraction is through networking. For example, let’s say you go to a conference and you are looking for a business book that was written years ago. You want a copy of that business book. You can send around your business card that has this request on it. You will most likely find somebody that has that business book or know somebody that has it. Plus, you have given them a way to contact you.

Now let’s look at the goals and desires you set versus what you should expect to attract. Many people ask the following question: What’s the balance between realism and unlikely expectations? For example, getting out of $40,000 debt in a week is a miracle. Whereas, taking a year is more realistic. It depends on your beliefs. Some people believe that they can get out of debt in just minutes if they believe they will. We are in a belief driven universe. Adjust your goals so you’re comfortable with it. Find a barometer that fits with your expectations, but leave room for exciting expectations.

It has been said that we are programmed at birth for certain belief systems that are limiting. Examples include: “My mother said only poor people went to Heaven. My father said only criminals were wealthy. My parents said I had to grow up to be a success or I would end up being a charity case.” You need to be able to attract the wealth you want instead of fearing it. You need to resolve the old issues and put in new programming.

So do you always have to write down your goals and desires? No, you don’t have to have a step by step plan, but instead have a clear intention out there in the universe. Take inspired action and only inspired action. For example, you are inspired to make a phone call or go to a particular bookstore. This sets the power of attraction wheels in motion. The key is that you have to have the faith that you are going to get to that intention you desire.

“How to Determine the Fear of your Customers”

You know the power and importance of knowing the fear that plagues your customers. But do you know how to determine this fear? Should you just guess? Should you use your own fears as a guideline? No. Guessing and using your own fears will not adequately serve your customers and in fact could hurt your bottom line.

So how should I figure out the fear of my customers? Should I just ask them? Wouldn’t that be the easiest and most direct way to find out this information? No. Common sense says that people will be open and tell you exactly what ails them. Unfortunately, people probably won’t tell you their real fears for a variety of reasons. They may be embarrassed and not want to admit their fears. For example, they may be embarrassed by their weight and not want to admit that they fear they will die soon from being overweight. Plus, some people are simply shy and/or don’t feel comfortable discussing problems with anyone, but their family.

Another reason you probably won’t be able to determine their true fears is because people don’t always know their fears. This means that some of their fears are on the unconscious level, so they have no idea that they fear something.

So instead of asking people to name their fears, you should present the following five questions:

1.) What is your biggest challenge with (insert topics such as “business”, “diet”, etc. It depends on your product, services, and customers.)

2.) How come the answer to question #1 is your biggest challenge?

3.) What is the worst thing that could happen if you don’t meet that challenge?

4.) If that (your answer from question #3) were to happen, what could that end up costing you? (Make sure to get a number for an answer.)

5.) What would it be worth to you to make sure that (answers to question #3 and question #4) doesn’t happen?

Here’s an example of answers:
The problem was that an individual had trouble following through. He felt like his daughter required too much of his time. The worst thing that could happen was that he would miss out on sales. It would end up costing him millions of dollars in losses. It would be worth millions of dollars to overcome this challenge.

So as a business you can create a product or service that helps this individual learn how to follow through so he can earn millions of dollars. This is a simple example, but demonstrates how to determine the fear of your customers.

Matt Bacak

“The Thin Man versus the Muscle Man: Which one do you want to be?”

Let me tell you a story. A thin man takes his girlfriend to the beach. While sitting on the beach a man with huge muscles approaches them. The thin man’s girlfriend is intrigued by the muscle man. The thin man fears that his girlfriend will like the muscle bound man better. He is correct because she not only talks with the muscle man, but leaves with him. The thin man is very upset, but decides to take action.

When the thin man arrives home he orders a home study course about building muscles. He works day and night on the course and builds muscles. The next summer he sits at the beach with his new girlfriend. The thin man turned muscle man no longer is fearful of losing his girlfriend because he is confident with his new body.

What does this type of story represent? How do you think the thin man felt when the muscle bound man showed up? He felt shame, power, envy, respect, and fear. He wanted to exact revenge. These feelings of fear prompted the thin man to purchase a home study course that would help him out or give him relief from being a thin man. These feelings also demonstrate that the underlying motivation to buy the home study course was fear.

Now think about your business. How can you apply this story to the customers you serve and the products you sell? While the story talked about fitness, it can also cover business situations. Do you feel like your business is a “thin man” going to be beaten by a “muscle bound” man? Does this competition make you feel fearful? Are you looking for a promise of relief? Are you willing to spend money to gain this relief?

You most likely answered “yes” to those questions which are exactly what you want your customers to do. In order to build wealth in your business you need to find your customer’s fear, provide a promise of relief through your products and services, and make a credible promise to relieve that fear that will prompt customers to give you their money. This is the formula for success and building lasting wealth.

Matt Bacak
