Google Alerts Plus Blogging Equals Traffic

Now if you’ve ever wanted to see what people were saying about you online as well as see who is linking to you all you have to do is subscribe to Google Alerts. You can subscribe at http://www.google.com/alerts . Basically, what you can do is whatever niche you are in you can type in the word that you’re monitoring online to see what is new. In my case I may use the word “internet marketing”. And if you are established in the industry of online marketing all you have to do is place your name in the box to allow Google Alerts to update you whenever your name is mentioned online. This is what I do.

In order to find out who is talking about me on their websites and blogs I have set up Google Alerts to alert me whenever my name is posted. I simply type in my name in the “search terms” box and then enter my email address. After I do this, Google Alerts will notify me through email anytime my name is mentioned online.

I mean, I could see everything that’s happening and that gets picked by the search engines when it comes in. So this alert comes in and I see it. I can see whenever somebody is blog posting about me. Actually, after we did the event in Singapore, everybody was blogging about it. It was so amazing. I saw so many mentions of my name on Singaporean blogs! But it’s not only flattery that boosts your ego when you see how many people are blogging about you, but it can also boost your traffic. How you ask? Well, what I do is I go to these blogs where someone has posted something about me and I go to comment on a post. The funny thing is is that a lot of times people are surprised because they never expected me to post to their blog.

There are two reasons I do this... Basically, one reason is to acknowledge that I noticed it and to let them know that, hey, I see everything that you’re doing. But I also do this in order to get a link on their blog to point it back to my page. This is an excellent traffic booster!

And so I was doing that, I started noticing that this really works very well in getting traffic coming from other people’s blogs to my pages, particularly my squeeze pages.

So, if you want to get more traffic but also want to be ahead of the game and know everything that’s going on in your niche, use Google Alerts to keep you up-to-date and to help you grow your business.

Warmest regards,

Matt Bacak

Creating a Blog Video

Producing your own blog videos is a great way to gain interest for what it is you are offering – whether it be a service or a product. Blog videos are contagious! They can be watched by one person and that person passes it on to several other people they think may be interested. It can also be posted on one site and viewed by thousands that landed on your particular website. Talk about viral marketing!

So, how do I achieve my success with my video blogs? It's pretty simple. It just takes proper planning and solid implementation.

The latest blogger buzz is blogging from YouTube. Basically if you're a video blogger, you can upload your videos directly to Blogger.com blog platform. You can easily post your YouTube videos to your blog because Blogger makes it fairly easy for the non-techie.

Anyways, all you need to do to set up your YouTube account to post videos to your blog using the share button. Usually you'll enter your blog information once, and then once you click "share" from any YouTube video page, it will be available to the masses.

Let me explain even exactly how I do this. First of all, you can use Blogspot (Blogger.com), which is a free hosting service. You simply go inside your Blogger settings where it says "Publishing." However, I choose to publish via FTP. You can actually do the same by creating a custom domain so that you can point your own registered domain to your blog. That's exactly what I do.

So, it'll ask you, what is the FTP server? So let me give you an example. You can't do this because you're not going to know my username and password, but my example is this...

My FTP server is ftp.MattBacak.com, so you want to do ftp.yourdomain.com. And then it says, "What is your blog URL?" Well, since my blog URL is actually my actual URL, I just typed in my URL, so it was http://www.mydomain.com. And the next thing it says "FTP pass." Well, FTP pass is actually – is a forward slash, that's all I put there. It says "Blog index file." The file name is index.html. The reason is because if the file already exists on your server it'll be overwritten. So I am having my main page, that page is specially designed for my blog so I want it to always be the index page. Now it says, "Feed file name" and then they'll put the file name there. After that it says, "FTP information" – that's where I put my username and my password and then I pushed that and that's all I did. Now my video blog is up and running and I can continue to submit more videos as I create them.

Set up your blog account at blogger or publish via FTP. Whichever you choose, as long as you make your videos and publish them, your videos will become a viral machine and you'll start to see further growth in your online business.

Warmest regards,

Matt Bacak

"Automate your article submission process with this tool"

What are article directories? Article directories are websites where people can submit their articles into an article database. Search engines love article directories because new content is posted at these websites every day. Anybody can take articles from these article directories and put them on their websites. They have to make sure to include the bio with the article.

Tip: You should submit your articles to these article directories on a consistent basis.

There are thousands of article directory websites, but they are not all of the same quality. You would benefit more from submitting your articles to some directories over others. You want to submit to an article directory that has a high Google page rank.

Here are 9 excellent article directories you should submit your articles to:

1: http://www.ezinearticles.com

2: http://www.articledashboard.com

3: http://www.articlefever.com

4: http://www.buzzle.com

5: http://www.article99.com

6: http://www.articlefeeder.com

7: http://www.goarticles.com

8: http://www.ideamarketers.com

9: http://www.searchwarp.com

There is another way to get your articles submitted to thousands of these article directories with the click of a button. You can go to http://www.isnare.com and go to the "distribution" feature. Also try http://www.submityourarticle.com . They will automatically submit articles for you for a fee. This fee is worth it.

All the article directories will get you traffic, but the higher Google page rank directories normally get you the most traffic.

You can also use a great software program called Article Announcer. It is at http://www.articleannouncer.com .

Tip: You can also set up Google alerts. It is a software tool that is built inside Google. It will send you an alert for topics and words that you specify. For example, you can type in the headline of your article into Google Alerts. Any time your headline is found in Google then it will alert you that your article is picked up by a certain website. It will show you who posted your article and when they posted it.

Google Alerts are free to do. You can keep track of which websites and Blogs are picking up your articles. You want to do this to make sure that these people include your bio. You can contact the people that posted your article and offer to send them articles directly.

“Want to drive massive amounts of traffic to your website?”

If you want to drive massive amounts of traffic to your website then you need to have fresh content. You can create a stream of fresh content by writing articles. The key is to submit articles with your domain name and bio line to different article directories.

The problem is that too many people find websites where they can buy private label articles. The problem with these articles is that hundreds of other people will be using the same articles. This means there will be duplicate content all over the Internet. Plus, the person who submits these articles to the Internet first is the winner. Everybody else will lose because they are submitting duplicate content.

You should submit articles constantly. Search engines are all about new, fresh, and original content. You can send visitors to your website through your article submissions. When you write original articles and submit these articles to directories then Google will take notice. New content for search engines is like food. Google is always searching for new content to index in their search engine.

The key is to write articles chock full of exceptional information. You should want the article readers to love your article so much that they put in on their website and/or Blog. You will earn traffic from these posts because your bio will be included in the article. The rule is that if people use your article then they have to include your bio as well.

If people don't put your bio with the article or claim the content as their own then you can go after them. You can have their website taken down if they do this to you.

There are two ways to get articles.
1: You can take time to write articles yourself, but this often takes too much time.
2: The smarter way is to outsource this task to freelancers. You can find several places that have freelancers who will write articles for you. You can pay $5-12 per article. The articles should be 300-700 words each.

Get started on writing your articles today.

Matt Bacak

“Blog your way to financial freedom”

Searching for another idea that can kick start your Internet business profits?

Million Dollar Idea: “Blogging”
What is the one major problem of Blogs for most people? Many people don’t post enough content on their Blog to make it worthwhile. Imagine a concept where your Blog content writes itself for you so you don’t have to worry about it. How can you accomplish this? You can use software to automatically write your content.

There is one type of content that people will never get mad at you for posting on your Blog. What is this type of content? Press Releases. This type of Blog content is great because it contains several keywords. You can use software that lets you type in the keywords you want on your Blog. The software will then search the press release websites for the appropriate press releases that have these keywords.

The software should allow you to decide how many words and paragraphs you want posted on your Blog. It will allow you to also post the entire article if you want to.

Why should you create an unlimited number Blogs? Blogs are very powerful. Search engines favor fresh content. The search engine will find your Blogs and raise your ranking. Plus, you can run Google AdSense programs on your Blogs. This will enable you to earn money from each Blog.

You can also write your own articles. If you don’t like to write, you can record your content. Have this content transcribed and formatted. You can outsource this article creation to freelancers.

Tip: Your Blog articles don’t have to be long. They can be around 200 words if you want. The key is to provide valuable content that your readers and customers would benefit from.

Tip: You can create an audio version of the Blog post. Provide a link in your Blog article that says “Click here to listen to this post”. This will impress readers because it shows that you have gone the extra mile to provide them with valuable content in a different format.

Tip: You can use audio generator software where you create podcasts. Your podcast will be automatically indexed in iTunes. The podcasts can be automatically generated into text content on your Blog that contains a link to your podcast.

Matt Bacak

“7 Frequently Asked Questions about Blogs”

Do you have a Blog for your Internet business? If not, have you considered setting up a Blog in the near future? Blogs are yet another tool you can use to market and promote your Internet business. You can have a Blog even if you don’t have an Internet website.

Blogs are relatively new technology to many Internet business owners. Following are a list of common questions associated with Blogs.

Blog Question #1: What is the purpose of submitting to Blogs before you have a website? The main purpose is to help establish your name on the Internet. In addition, search engines love Blog content. These search engines eat new content up like candy. Your Blog can supply the new content candy that these search engines have a craving for.

Writing a Blog also helps to establish a habit of consistently updating web content regarding you or your business. This habit puts new content on the Internet resulting in an increase in your Internet presence. The more work you put into your Blog, on a consistent basis, the more you will reap in rewards.

Blog Question #2: Is there a preferred Blogger site? This is a difficult question to give one answer to because it depends on your preferences, needs, and capabilities. So the answer is to find the Blogger site that makes sense to you and makes you feel the most comfortable.

Blog Question #3: What are the “no-no’s” of writing Blogs such as mentioning celebrity names, brand names, and/or friends? There aren’t really any established no-no’s. The content you post on your Blog is up to you as long as it is not libel or slander. However, you might want to ask or tell your friends that you are going to write about them.

Blog Question #4: Should I use real names in a Blog? If the person/people know that you are going to use their real name than it should be okay. Make sure to ask them before you post the information to your Blog.

Blog Question #5: How do you keep people from copying your Blog? It’s difficult to find out if people copy from your Blogs. So don’t waste time worrying about it.

Blog Question #6: Of my own Blogs, should I copyright Blogs that are similar in structure to articles and/or are my favorite Blogs? You can if you want to, but it can be a waste of time and not save you from somebody else copying it anyway. It is your call whether or not you want to take this extra step.

Blog Question #7: Should I sell my Blogs to a Blog website that will then own my Blogs? No, don’t give other sites rights to your Blog content.

“18 Blog Tips to Maximize the Success of your Blog”

5 Tips for Blogs:
Tip #1: Use the WordPress Blog program. You have total control. It is free and offers free plug-ins. It is convenient with just a one click installation. You can find templates and themes for WordPress that are free. Just search for WordPress “template” and “themes” on Google. Updating your Blog is simple.

Tip #2: Check out worpresstutorials.com to learn how to use WordPress. There are hundreds of free tutorials for WordPress available on the Internet.

Tip #3: There are extensive plug-ins available for WordPress including language translators.

Tip #4: WordPress can be found at wordpress.org

Tip #5: If you are going to do a text Blog then you have to know how to type and spell.

7 Tips for Audio Blogs/Podcasts:
Tip #1: You should engage in narrow podcasting instead of broadcasting. You need to focus on your niche. Niche radio is a failure in old media broadcasting. However, in the podcasting world, niche radio is the way to go. Niche narrow casting radio and television works on the Internet.

Tip #2: You can build a worldwide audience as long as you have ways of monetizing your niche podcast.

Tip #3: The audio standard for audio Blogs and podcasts are MP3. A great program to use to create MP3’s is Sony Sound Forge. You can also create, edit, and rip audio CDs using Sony Sound Forge. You can also repurpose old content from tapes, etc. into MP3s.

Tip #4: Podcast content can come from chopping up teleseminars to create several podcasts.

Tip #5: You have to have some text in your audio or video Blog. Otherwise the search engines won’t find your Blog.

Tip #6: A challenge about getting video and audio information to your Blog is FTP. FTP simply uploads the media to your Blog. You can find FTP programs that are simple to use.

Tip #7: A great podcast includes 3-5 minutes of helpful content that you post on a weekly basis. The content should be relevant to your niche. The fastest and easiest way to find content for a podcast is to interview somebody.

6 Tips for Video Blogs:
Tip #1: What camera should you use to create a video Blog? Just buy the cheapest camera you can find. It doesn’t matter what equipment you have, it is how you use the equipment. The goal is to subscribe people to your show, not to spend money on the most expensive equipment.

Tip #2: Use Sony Movie Studio to create video Blogs.

Tip #3: Creating video Blogs should be a goal, but not at first. Why? Videos take more time and effort. Master text and audio Blogs before you move on to video Blogs.

Tip #4: Video Blogs can be created using a lavaliere microphone. You can also find microphones that plug directly into the USB port on your computer. You can find a great, quality microphone for only $99.

Tip #5: Produce video Blogs in real time with no editing.

Tip #6: You want a good picture and clear sound. Make sure you have lights that are 300 watts or higher. Make sure that your microphone is close to you. A microphone that is built in the camera doesn’t work as well.

“Ditch the Yellow Pages – NOW!”

Is old media failing? Think about this question – Do you use the telephone yellow pages or Google to search for information? More and more people are using Internet search engines to find information. Plus, you can track where your leads come from by using an Internet search engine. Print material, such as the yellow pages, doesn’t help you track where your leads come from.

The popularity of radio is also failing. Many people only listen to radio while they are in their car. Therefore, they aren’t able to write any of your content and/or contact information down.

Don’t ditch old media entirely, but be aware that new media can be more powerful. New media gives users more control. People can fast forward commercials and peruse websites at their leisure. Whereas in the old days people had to sit and listen to the TV news without any input on their part.

50 million people turn to the Internet everyday for news. 45% of TV advertisers are looking to do online advertising because it is more effective and they can track their leads. The return on investment is higher through Internet media.

What is new media marketing? It is conversation marketing versus interrupted marketing. Interrupted marketing of the past was when commercials interrupt the TV program you are watching. You have no control. New media marketing, on the other hand, enables people to discuss niches and topics on the Internet through discussion boards. There is a sense of community and trust that is built in your niche. People can give their input and opinions.

People do business with those that they know, like, and trust. If you are passionate and love what you do then you can communicate this through your audio and video Blogs and podcasts. By watching your video Blogs people will feel like they know you. You become a trusted friend that recommends products and services that solve their problems.

What Blog program is the best? WordPress is the recommended Blog program to use. WordPress is free. It is by far the best Blogger software on the market right now. Everyone online can read, hear, and watch content you write with your Blog. You are educating your subscribers. Audio and video builds trust faster than any other type of media.

Matt Bacak

“Unleash the Power of Blogs”

New media marketing such as Blogs should be an integral part of your Internet marketing plan. Internet technology changes rapidly and you need to keep pace with new advancements in technology. Old media including radio, television, and print are not going to go away, but you shouldn’t focus on this old media alone. You should be the dominator of your niche with a Blog, podcasting, and audio and video Blogs.

A Blog was originally just text and pictures. However, now they encompass text, images, audio, and video. The best blogging program to use is WordPress.

Blogs allow you to instantly communicate through text, pictures, audio, and video. You can Blog in any niche possible. Blogging doesn’t require a webmaster. Blogs enable you to create worldwide relationships. You can share your information instantly. Blogging enables you to be found more easily by the search engines. Search engines love it when you update your content. You can update your Blog as often as you like therefore increasing your visibility in the search engines.

Blogs and webpages are the same technology. However, for a Blog you don’t need a webmaster and you don’t have to know web design. Blog comes from the word Weblog otherwise known as an online journal.

People can instantly receive your Blog updates by RSS feeds. When you update your Blog your RSS subscribers will be informed. Blog software is free. However, transmitting audio and video will only cost you pennies on the dollar.

Why are newsreaders, aggregators, and iTunes important?
RSS stands for “Real Simple Syndication”. It enables software like newsreaders to download your content (text, images, audio, and video) every time you update it. It is an automated notification system. Aggregators and iTunes are the equivalent to a radio and TV on the Internet. These programs enable people to listen and watch your podcasts and video Blogs.

Every search engine, such as Google, has a newsreader which makes it simple for people to access your Blog and podcasts. They access it through these websites. This is much better then sending items through email. Why? Because email is stopped by spam filters more and more these days. This gives you power to put your content in people’s hands quickly.

Internet Explorer 7 has a one click subscription to Blog. This is a recent development. People can subscribe to a Blog feed easily with one click. This feature is great news for your Blog. This feature enables you to build a following of people that like you and your Blog.

ITunes has one click subscriptions as well. People can find your Blog in iTunes. They can then subscribe to your Blog. You can’t get into iTunes unless you have a podcast and a Blog. ITunes is free.

ITunes allows you to use audio and video. iPods are popular. People can download your podcasts and Blogs to their iPods to watch and listen to when they want.

Even Tivo on your TV can subscribe to your Blog feed!

Essentially, you have the same reach as old media, but for just pennies on the dollar.

Warmest regards,

Matt Bacak

The Power of Copywriting

Too often Internet businesses chase trends instead of focus on skills development. The Internet will change and move much faster than you could ever move. Therefore, chasing each Internet fad that pops up could cause you to go in circles. To avoid this vicious cycle you need to ask yourself this question – Am I going to chase the ever changing technology on the Internet or develop core skills that will make me money on a consistent basis?

The correct answer is that you should develop core skills. What are these core skills? First, think of the adage that knowledge is power. This is not quite true. Instead, knowledge is “potential” power. Applied knowledge is true power. In other words, you should leverage your power to make money.

You need to work on skills that you can leverage. These skills are different from normal skills. Normal skills are skills such as Graphic design. For example, a web designer may have the skill to create a website. This type of skill is a “by the hour” skill. The web designer has to physically create new websites all the time.

In contrast a skill that you can leverage is one in which you complete the work once and are paid over and over again or exponentially for that initial work.

If you want to be extremely successful in the online business world then you need to master copywriting. (Or outsource your copywriting to a skilled copy writer.) Copywriting is a skill that can be leveraged.

Copywriting is salesmanship in print. When you write a sales letter you can use it over and over. You only have to write the copy once. A verbal sale, in contrast, is a sales technique that has to be pitched to each and every person.

Copywriting includes, but is not limited to squeeze pages, sales letter, emails, and Blogs. Copywriting is the foundation of all the money you make on the Internet. Copywriting can come from virtually anything including teleseminars.

How do you dominate your market? Provide the most interesting and relevant copywriting. You may think that you area is saturated, but a market is never saturated. Only uninteresting Internet entrepreneurs think an area is saturated. For example, you could send an email with a random subject line to hook in readers.

Unleash the power of copywriting and leverage the immense power it contains.
