How to Hide Your Affiliate Link

If you are promoting a product there are times where you just want to hide the fact that you are an affiliate. You don’t want to seem as though you’re pushing a product because you want to make a quick buck. So, what do you do? You customize or shall I say you hide your affiliate link so those seeing your link have no idea you have any association with the product you are recommending.

So, how is this done? It’s fairly simple. Let me explain...

You get an affiliate link it’s going to be like adomain.com/ with some weird set of numbers and letters at the end of the link. Basically, everybody’s affiliate program always shoots out a different link. Then there’s a certain identification or ID number on that link that points back to you. But these links are usually pretty ugly and long.

This can easily be changed. When I get an affiliate link, it’s easy to make sure that people don’t know it’s an affiliate link. What I’ll do is I’ll go in and I create a redirect. As soon as you log into the C-panel, there’s a thing called a redirect. I log into my control panel, and I create a redirect. You can find it on the right-hand side of C-panel.

So, let’s say I’m promoting a health ebook. What I’ll do is I’ll put in mydomain.com – so I place a redirect to mydomain.com/healthebook. It’s that simple. So people just see that link, which looks like it’s a page within my site. Visitors have no idea that it’s actually a link to another site through my redirect. This is a sure way to get cookied and get credit for your recommendation.

However, sometimes when I put in those long affiliate links assigned to me, those affiliate links just don’t take inside C-panel. The set of numbers just don’t get picked up. And when I try the link, it just doesn’t go anywhere. How do I get around that? Well, what I do is I just go to www.tinyurl.com. Then I put the link in there – the one that I just had a little bit of trouble with inside C-panel. Well, I put my link in there and then I have it generate a new link. So, it turns that link into a new link. So, now the link will look something like tinyurl12345. Now, I take that link, go add it into C-panel, and now I’ve got my redirect! It’s a pretty neat trick. My link will now appear as mydomain.com/healthebook. Basically, this allows my visitors to go to that exact location when I send them an email.

If you’re not using redirects I highly recommend it especially if you want to continue to build your online empire!

Matt Bacak

Best Ways to Network and Joint Venture

I always say this and I truly believe that going to networking type seminars are one of, if not, the best ways to find joint venture partners. That is not to say that other methods aren’t effective, but even in this day and age, nothing beats face-to-face communication.

Through my participation at the last Big Seminar I met a number of great contacts and joint ventured with five of them. These partnerships have netted me a quarter of a million dollars so far. So, you tell me if this method is effective!!

I get a number of people telling me that they can’t really afford the time and expense of travelling to different networking events, especially if they have to travel half way across the country to get to them.

I totally understand this and I was definitely of the same mindset years ago, but I realized that in order to take the “next step” in my internet marketing journey, I had to surround myself with like-minded people to keep the entrepreneurial juices flowing. I too struggled with the costs of some of these events, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and take a chance. Sure, not everything that you attend may be great, but if you never attend any you may never know how much more financially successful you could be.

Every business that anybody starts has costs associated with it. Of course some are more than others, but you get my point. However, if you are spending your limited financial resources on things that have the potential to catapult your income, I would say that you are probably making a wise investment.

It is no different then paying to go to college or university, except the contacts that you can probably come out of a networking event with, can have an immediate impact on your future

If anyone is interested in attending the next Big Seminar, just drop me an email at mbacak@gmail.com. What I will do is give you my affiliate link and if you book through this link I’ll write you a check for any commission I received at the event. This will enable you to get approximately half off the regular price.

Why am I doing this? Well, like I said I really believe that this will benefit all that attend and if I can help you get there by making it more cost effective then so be it. Here’s to your success!

Warmest regards,

Matt Bacak

Choosing an Affiliate Program – What’s Appropriate?

Affiliate programs have been around for some time and if you are in the world of internet marketing you probably know what an affiliate program is. However, if not it is a program run by a company that allows you sign up and they will pay you for any sales you make for them. They give you an affiliate link or tracking link that only you use. This link allows that company to see how many monthly sales you are making for them. If you make a sale, they offer you a certain percentage of that sale. This is known as the commission rate. It’s an excellent way to make money but also a great way to offer your website visitors more product selection.

However, when choosing an affiliate program here are some things you should look out for

Firstly, make sure you’re not being charged to join an affiliate program. There is no need to pay to join an affiliate program. Although most affiliate programs are free I have heard of cases where companies charge website owners to promote their products. This is not necessary. If you are selling a company’s products to your list and promoting someone else’s products why would you have to pay to do so? If anything, that company whose products you’re promoting should be paying you to promote their products to your list.

Secondly, make sure you look at how long your affiliate company places cookies on your visitor’s computers. If they only last a short time like a week or so, perhaps you should reconsider joining their affiliate program. There are lots of other programs out there in your niche, selling the same products that will offer 30, 60 or 90 day cookies. This gives you more time to "own that visitor" and make a commission on the sale.

Third, see if the affiliate program you want to promote is willing to offer you tracked links to specific product pages. Rather than sending your visitors to the home page, the best way to get a sale is to link to a page where the product you mention exists. If you’re affiliate manager fails to help you or acts as though you are being a difficult affiliate partner by making such requests, perhaps this is not the right affiliate program for you. You should be able to ask for links or other promotional materials from your affiliate partner. Even if they cannot offer them to you immediately, see if they seem willing to consider your request and look further into the possibility of meeting your needs without seeing you as a hassle. If you feel the affiliate company is not willing to graciously listen and potentially give you more assistance in promoting their products then perhaps it’s time to move on to another company that appreciates you and your efforts.

Take time to research your market and get to know the companies whose products you are promoting. If they make the effort to help you promote their products and are always willing to assist you when you run into problems, that’s a good sign.
Warmest regards,

Matt Bacak

“Tips for Ezine Advertising”

Ezine advertising is used by both Internet marketers and network marketers. Ezine advertising can and should be used in ever niche. It is another way to drive traffic to your website and increase sales.

What is a good website that you can go to find ezines that you can advertise in? Go to http://www.directoryofezines.com and get a membership. They have ezines in thousands of different categories in which you can place your ezine ads. You can find niche targeted ezines as well.

There are different types of ezine ads. For example, there are sponsor links and ads that are 4 to 6 lines in length. When you place an ezine ad, you want to print out a copy of your ad tracking log. You want keep it in a 3 ring binder. You want to start logging every thing you do when you place ad.

To place ezine ads you go to the appropriate website, submit the ad and pay for it. You can pay anywhere from $20 to $300 per ad.

Tip: Your ad should always ask for a call to action. You should get them to subscribe to your newsletter or buy your product. You send them to a website that always capture’s their name and email address.

Ezine ads are wonderful because they can give you a giant rush of traffic really quickly.

If you are submitting ezine ads with an affiliate link then you want to track each ad separately. It is important to track your ads to see how much traffic they bring in. If your ad doesn’t bring in any traffic then never use it again.

There is a myth that safe lists don’t bring in any traffic. If you are a paid member of a safe list, you will bring in some traffic. Try a safe list by subscribing to it for one month and then track your ads. If you make sales from your ad then it is worth it.

Incorporate ezine ads into your marketing campaign. You will drive traffic to your website and increase your sales. Remember to always test and track your ezine ad numbers so you can figure out what you are doing right and what you are doing wrong.
